If you're searching for a cosy place full with a vibe, it's "Parunāsim"! The first time when I got there was buy one of my teachers' suggestions. And the first time I went there, I fell in love! First of all, the place itself is located in quite a street and surrounded by old buildings in the old Riga. It makes it cosy itself! But this café is filled with beautiful furniture, and you can even see the parts of the building since it was built. I really drink coffee there, so I can't really tell if it is good or bad (though the moka that I tried was amazing). But I'm IN LOVE with their tea, especially the white one "Rio". Every time I go to this café, I mainly go for three things - this tea, their cakes, and the atmosphere itself. And since I started about cakes. I'm not quite sure if they are homemade, however, they sure taste like it! Of course, sometimes, when it's more hot outside, they're not as good as they usually are, but I think it's because some of the cakes have cream in it and they may change the cream for the cake to last longer. But I really enjoy them, and I can say that this place never stops helping me to relax. Have I mentioned the jazz that plays there? Perfectly suiting! And how could I forget the most important part? The staff! Baristas are amazing girls. They're always sweet and talkative and are there to make your visit more pleasant!
I definitely recommend visiting this place at least once. Yes, the price is high. However, I can't say that it's too high. It suits the quality and the work...
Read moreRomantic and hidden! Stop for a coffee whilst exploring the Old Town. I had seen this cafe on social media. It was advertised as the most romantic and hidden cafe in Riga Old Town. That it was! Hidden just near Dome Square and very pretty. Lovely and romantic. Probably more so in the evening. I went in the day. There was a small selection of homemade cakes on display, wines and coffee. I was told by a local that the cake wasn't that good but the coffee was. I opted for a cappuccino with oat milk. When I asked about non-dairy milk options, the barista said they only had oat milk which was fine. I was very lucky and managed to grab the last lovely table downstairs. There are more seats upstairs but they are popular and tables are limited. It was cold in Riga and despite there being tables outside too, nobody obviously wanted to sit there. A lot of customers were turned away. Order at the counter and then staff will bring the order to you when ready. The cappuccino was very good. My small negative was that it was cold, although I am not sure why as I could see the barista making it. I would highly recommend going for a coffee whilst sightseeing around...
Read moreParunāsim Kafe'teeka is one of those hidden gems that makes wandering the streets of Riga so rewarding. Tucked away down a quiet side street in the Old Town, this beautiful little café feels like stepping into a warm, welcoming hideaway from the bustle outside. The setting is charming and romantic, with vintage-style décor, soft lighting, and a cosy atmosphere that immediately makes you want to linger a bit longer than planned.
We stopped in for a coffee and were genuinely impressed. The vanilla latte was excellent — rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced, clearly made with care. But the real standout was the honey cake, which was nothing short of unreal. Soft, layered, and full of delicate sweetness, it’s easily one of the best desserts we’ve had in Riga. It pairs perfectly with the coffee and completes the experience beautifully.
The staff were friendly and the service relaxed, which suits the tone of the place perfectly. Whether you’re after a quiet spot to unwind, a romantic coffee date, or simply somewhere to enjoy an excellent drink and dessert, Parunāsim Kafe'teeka is the perfect choice. It’s the kind of café you’ll remember long after...
