We initially thought we would have to pack these buns back to the hotel, but seeing available seats, we decided to dine in. It turned out to be a great choice! Among the items we tried, the pineapple bun (RM1.80) was a standout. Unlike the usual versions, which are either plain or butter-filled, this one had an actual pineapple-flavored filling. It truly lived up to its name—pineapple bun! The filling was refreshing and slightly tangy, making it unique and delightful. However, as shown in the picture, the buttery crust on top was quite crumbly and tended to fall apart after a bite, but it didn’t take away from the overall experience. We also ordered a char siu bao (RM2.50), which was equally impressive. The filling was flavorful and well-balanced, encased in soft, fluffy dough. It was so good that we decided to pack more before leaving. We got the pork bun (RM2.50) and one egg tart (RM1.50) to enjoy later, and both were exceptional. The pork bun was juicy, tender, and bursting with flavor—an absolute must-try. The egg tart, however, completely stole the show. It was silky smooth, with a perfectly balanced sweetness and a crisp, flaky crust. I deeply regret packing only one because it was hands down better than any I’ve had in West Malaysia. And at such a reasonable price, it’s an unbeatable deal. This shop, established in 1984, has truly stood the test of time, and it’s easy to see why. Everything here was reasonably priced, and the quality lived up to the reputation of this old establishment. If you’re in the area, don’t miss this spot—it’s a gem for anyone who loves traditional buns and pastries. We will definitely...

Place: a classic style Chinese shop that specialises in buns, such as steamed buns (red bean paste, braised pork, big or small) eggs tarts, pineapple buns, etc. Expect the famous foods to be sold out by 9.30am, so the early bird catches the worm, or in this case, buns.

Service: self order, self pick up, even for the food and drinks at the counter. They accept cash and duitnow.

Food: I didnt get to try their famous egg tart. So, my review is only limited to what I have tried. Wanton noodle: the noodles texture was very soft and sticky, making this a brand new experience taking wanton noodles that im used to. There is no pickled green chilli which im used to, so that's a down side for me. The dumpling filling was so tiny and the batter was huge. Verdict: average at best 2.5/5.

Beef noodles soup: the flavour here is power packed and rich with herbs. Excellent! The noodles are fairly standard. The beef slices are tender and fall off upon contact. Verdict: 4/5.

Pork noodles soup: the same soup used for the wanton dumplings soup is used here. Nothing special. Moving on. Verdict: 2/5.

Char siew pao: this steamed pork bun is clearly homemade, from the bread dough, to the fillings which are really lean! I love it. The slight lack of seasoning makes this experience somewhat wanting. Verdict: 4/5. Worth coming back...

Visited this kopitiam 5 times. The quality of the bakery and steamed products was generally good. Prices were very reasonable by local standard.

I recommend 1, 4, 6 and 7 below.

Steamed BBQ Pork Bun (RM2.50) Rating: 10/10 Generous and tasty BBQ pork filling Dough was excellent - soft and fluffy texture Recommended

Steamed Big Bun (RM4.50) Rating: 7/10 Generous filling of pork, chinese pork sausage and mushroom Pork was a bit chunky

Steamed Pork Bun (RM2.50) Rating: 7/10

BBQ Pork Pastry (RM2.00) Rating: 8/10 Generous and tasty BBQ pork filling Pastry was a bit dry but still good Recommended

Beef Curry Puff Pastry (RM2.00) Rating: 7.5/10

Egg Tart (RM1.50) Rating: 8/10 Not sweet. A bit bland. But texture of pastry and egg custard were excellent. Recommended

Buttermilk Bun (RM1.50) Rating: 8/10 Filling of sweet buttermilk was tasty Bun was soft Recommended

Pineapple Polo Bun (RM1.80) Rating: 6/10 A bit bland

This shop does not have a big clear signage outside, so could be easily missed.

Most customers were locals. Many takeaway customers.

Their bakery products sell out very quickly. A new tray of freshly baked egg tarts sold out within 20 minutes while I was there.

Accepts eWallet payment.

Verdict: Recommended, particularly those bakery/steamed products I...

We went in the morning so the place wasn’t very crowded and we managed to get a table. But what surprised us was the speed of taking order, it was almost a one-man show on that busy morning. The guy (guess he’s the boss) was taking order at the counter, packing bakeries people ordered, and process payment, while he has 3-4 workers standing at the side doing nothing, so the queue was pretty long outside. We queued for about 15mins just take make order. And then it’s self service to collect our food and cutleries, again with plenty of staff just standing there doing nothing except waiting for order. The boss was quite friendly though but would be better if they could maximise the manpower for a better customer experience. Location is great, right at the center of the Sunday morning market. Steamed bun and dried noodle are nice, charsiew puff not our favourite.
