Fantastic hotel and service. My wife and I stayed here two nights. We arrived at 11.30am from the airport and realised we had left one of our bags either in the taxi or at the airport. Although this wasn't their problem, the staff were very helpful by calling the local taxi firm and airport to try to locate our missing bag. They then drove my wife to the airport and taxi rank to look for the bag, which took them approximately an hour.if I recall, they said, 'Your problem is our problem!' legends!
Unfortunately we didn't find the bag containing a laptop, camera and travel documents but they made the whole ordeal easier to deal with by going above and beyond the level of service required.
The room we stayed in was very spacious, clean, air conditioned and had a TV, desk, large shower room and two double beds. For a Three Star hotel it was quite impressive! There's not much of a lobby or communal space but we didn't expect it anyway. And they have nothing (if I recall?)in the way of a restaurant but if you're in Kotu you should go out and try the local food. It's pretty good!
Geographically the hotel is very central, situated near to the night markets.
All-in-all, this hotel is excellent value with superb service. Thanks...
Read moreWe stayed in the Hotel Sixty3 for 6 nights recently book-ending a great Sabah adventure arranged through Adventure Borneo. |The hotel couldn’t be more conveniently located with Gaya Street and Australia Place literally on the doorstep. The hotel itself is a bit dated and architecturally quirky – the disguised lifts in the foyer are just one example. The rooms and public areas are decorated with black and white photos of old Kota Kinabalu.||Our rooms were spacious and surprisingly quiet given the central location. The front desk staff were always smiling and helpful. And included in our room rate was a breakfast at the nearby Jesselton Hotel. There was a good choice of menu for the breakfast which had to be ordered the night before. |There is limited parking outside the hotel but that didn’t seem to affect the vans that came to pick us up for our sightseeing. |One afternoon the hot water ran out just as I wanted a shower, but that was an...
Read moreI booked the hotel in very last minute and fortunately there is still available for me, the front office lady is friendly and smart, understand what I want when I step into the counter. We have a great moment to stay in Hotel 56. I would consider this hotel is a boutique hotel, very suitable for businessman and family. I was surprised the hotel is big enough and well upkeep, although the hotel doesn’t have restaurant, but it has many restaurants along the street till late night, no worry to feed our stomach, walking distance to Sunday market, Suria Mall and 7Eleven. The only challenge is to find parking, but do try the luck at the back street of the building, and there is an access from the lobby when you go out (while they are not allowed you enter from the back). If I have a chance, I will choose to stay in this...
