This place is always busy and full of customers for breakfast; The store is spacious and clean.
Some of the food sold is cooked on this premises, mostly Chinese cuisine that is a favorite of locals. There is also food sold that they take from small-scale entrepreneurs, such as Nasi Lemak and Yellow Rice.
Nasi Kuning is a kind of dish originating from Indonesia. It also comes in the form of a cone called tumpeng and usually eaten during a special ceremony. Rice is cooked with coconut milk and turmeric, hence its name is yellow rice. This rice symbolizes the heap of gold, so yellow rice is often reserved for festivals, or opening ceremonies, as a sign of fortune, wealth and dignity. However, Nasi Kuning is a typical breakfast dish in Malaysia, especially in Sabah.
Nasi lemak is a traditional food for the favorite Malays for Malaysians. It can also be found in Singapore, Indonesia and Brunei. Fatty Nasi can be found in all parts of Malaysia and Singapore. In Indonesia, nasi lemak is usually found on the east coast of Sumatra, especially in Riau, Jambi and North Sumatra. Nasi lemak refers to rice that is cooked using coconut milk, to increase its fat taste. Sometimes pandan leaves are added when nasi lemak is cooked to add aroma. In Indonesia Nasi lemak is believed to be introduced by employees and students who have never lived or worked in Malaysia. Sir Richard Olof Winstedt wrote about Nasi Fat in Malaysia in 1909 in his book "The Circumstances of Malay Life". Nasi lemak is usually served with eggs, cucumbers, fried fish, fried nuts and chillies. But now nasi lemak is sold with a variety of dishes which include but not limited to meat, chicken, squid, shrimp, spleen, and liver (cows). Local Chinese are also cooking nasi lemak with pork dishes.
Be careful with packaged food because when I found the sauce it was stale and smelly. Because hungry, I eat too and eventually I often...
Read moreDont like the system. My first time here and ask the staff how to know my food is ready? She said "nanti kita panggil" but i didn't hear anybody calling numbers. In the end i finally spot the tiny lcd on top of cashier, im thinking wth that's not panggil, cant she just point to the lcd and ask me look???!. I went there alone then i sat down and eat my nasi lemak and half way eat my number is up and i leave my food to collect (another wth). Then I was thinking to order (add) something else but looking at the queue at the cashier it's no way i leave my food on table and go queue up for another order and i just give up. The next day, i ordered complete things i want to eat, once i sat down and eating nasi lemak, my number is called, drink is ready, i collected and sat down, immediately number call again for my toast (wth!!!). Then i do collect again for the soft boil egg. Do expect to get interrupt while u eating to go collect food and pay attention to the stupid number!!!
Food aren't up to expectation. The nasi lemak sambal not to my taste and worst is the rice is wet and clumps (i tried for two days it is the same wth). I expect the toast is thicker. Soft boil egg is worst experience, it is very hot, open up and still hv transparent egg white. Worst is the mess with ur hand when you open the egg and get the stuff out. In cafe, we expect stall to serve without shell, nicely cook and fresh egg, just like what ppl serve in kelantan.
The interior is dark, how to eat properly in dark? Unless you sit outside. Please put me lighting.
I saw from review said siu mai is must try... i saw it i hold it, it is cold, i put it back down...
After i eat, should i clean up my table? I dont know, nobody doing it, no any label or instruction... confusing.
If you stay around this area, this is the early cafe that open for breakfast before 8am, no other reason for me...
Read moreI'm amazed by the experience dining in here, amazingly disorganized service and beautiful expression from the beverage counter, oh wait but to be fair the counter staff are really doing their job they are friendly.
Went for a hainanese breakfast, which have a toast kahwin bread, 2 half boiled eggs and a teh. Beautiful morning spoiled and definitely a place to skip. My order was separated 3 times for my number just to get each stuff separately as in teh toast eggs in every 2 minutes, why make both of our life hard? Life is so short. Can just place the number when everything is ready, the beverage staff face are darker than .... probably life is too harsh on them.
Overall honestly i don't think anything in my set taste good here and the teh sweet until my heart but at least I get my egg half boiled done, or else I really need to give a standing ovation.
And please please improve on your staff service attitude and management, it's totally confusing where to get the food ordered and if you want to go for a self service managing style please make sure you do your assignment on clearing things up for easy understanding, currently it's a mess. And just to get tissues by paying packages with RM0.3 in a big chainstore like this is really a shame. Hope to have a positive feedbacks here in the future deep...
