My second time here hoping to see improvement on the service but after this second visit, I don't think I will be back the 3rd time. My first visit was end May this year, the view indeed impressive and ambiance is everything you'd expect from high end restaurant. But we were let down by the service: We ordered 2 bottles of red wine and servers had difficulty opening the bottles and spilled the wine. More wine was spilled when it was being poured into our glasses. Servers definitely didn't know how to pour wine correctly, not serving the lady first could be forgiven but not when you rest the bottles onto the glass itself when pouring. This could cause the glass to break/chip. Later the evening, almost an entire glass of wine was tipped over by the server, causing a big mess at our table. No apology from the manager, nor any offer to compensate for the spill - we still paid full amount for wine that was drank by the napkins, table and the floor. Food wise, it was very well cooked. Salads were seasoned well and beautifully presented. Our company of 6 ordered the Japanese premium steaks and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. Second visit was yesterday for dinner. Upon being shown our table, there was a bread crumb on the seat, instead of picking it up and apologizing for that, the usher just swipe it off the chair, its surprising for a high end restaurant to behave like a kopitiam for sure. Next, i had them change our drinking glasses due to very visible lipstick stains from previous use. This time around, no butter was offered to accompany our breads. But its a minor point since we did have olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Breads were good. For appetisers, ordered hokkaido scallops, and garden salad. Scallops were overcooked and thus became chewy, that was RM148 worth of appetiser down the drain. Salad was under seasoned and didnt look anything as presentable as the first time I was here. Appears they ran out of edible flowers as compared to the first time we were here. Next, our mains. Ordered the Miyazaki tenderloin and Tokushima sirloin, again cooked well and the meat was wonderful. Overall, the misses really dampened the evening. Its a pity though, I hope you guys improve.

This review is for 2 meals: Dinner, and the breakfast which was included in our hotel stay 1) Dinner - 4.5 Stars! The starters were pretty good, and they had a good variety of freshly baked bread to start off. We enjoyed the scallops, thought slightly undercooked. (Must try: Lobster Thermidor Gratin) Portions were generous, lobster chunks were delicious accompanied with the creamy sauces and roasted potatoes and white truffles. Delicious! 30 days Dry aged Spanish beef - not bad, but slightly over cooked as it came to be medium and not medium rare. A little sad that they didn’t have whole grain mustard available then. Overall, very pleasant meal, with breathtaking views and attentive service from the staff. Would probably dine in again! (Accor plus has 50% off 2 diners) 2) Breakfast : 2.8-3 stars Recommended: Breakfast was generous - the best dishes were the avocado toast and curry mee! There was also free flow Prosecco too! Nice touch to breakfast Avoid: Nasi Lemak was a little disappointing - the egg yolk also came hard. Avoid the dim sums (skin was too thick and mushy) . Pancake was also too doughy and nothing special. Ask for smaller portions if you want to try everything though. Breakfast overall was so so in food quality though- not what I expected of a high end hotel breakfast

I had the opportunity to experience afternoon tea at Horizon Grill, Banyan Tree Kuala Lumpur, arriving around 4:30 PM. As someone who enjoys exploring various tea time spots, I found the overall experience to be rather underwhelming given the expectations that come with the venue and price point. While the setting is undeniably beautiful, the tea set itself lacked the “wow” factor — both in taste and presentation. For RM300 for two pax, I believe there is room for improvement in terms of thoughtful décor, more refined plating, and better storytelling or explanations from the service team regarding the items served. Unfortunately, since we arrived closer to the later end of the tea time slot, we were politely asked to leave before 6:00 PM to make way for dinner service. While I understand the need for preparation, it felt slightly rushed, especially considering we were still paying for the full tea experience along with service tax. Allowing guests to remain a little longer — say until 6:30 or 6:40 PM — would’ve made the experience feel more relaxed and worth the value.

Let's start by telling you that we had the nicest evening at Bayan's venues. It all started at the restaurant, Horizon, featuring of of the nicest views I've experienced for dinner. Munir, our waiter greeted us courteously and took us to our table (no hassle with our reservation at all). Then we were offered the menu and bothered the variety and range of prices they offer is vast. I had the chicken rolls with salad and my wife had the seafood créme and then salmon. For the main course. My chicken was superb. Although I've found it hard in Asia to eat their spicy food, the chicken had the perfect balance of giving you a taste of spice but not overwhelming at all. En lieu, it boasted the chicken's natural flavor and the side salad could t have been fresher. The mix of flavors, textures, presentation and freshness of my wife's dinner was also a highlight. You can tell no element was ever frozen or canned. All fresh here. Then, for dessert my wife had a brownie and I had their signature XXX and again the flavor and creativity of their culinary art, were displayed. Munir (our waiter), accompanied us to the balcony to help us with our pictures, and since he knew it was our first time in KL, he took his time to share with us some of the notable buildings' stories and fun facts. We were so pleased by our dinner that we told our waiter to give our compliments to the chef, who, afterwards, took the time to come to our table to greet us and thank us for having chided their venue for the occasion. After such dinner, Munir escorted us upstairs, to their Vertigo bar and we were greeted by the manager who immediately offered us a very nice table by the window. The service, was again, Impeccable. We were delighted for the KL view, some of her DJs mellow beats (they would even play. Birthday song for us since we were celebrating my wife's), and as soon as a some srats became available outdoors, they moved us there. The drinks were nice, the value was right (you don't get this view, level of service and facilities for free, but it is worth every penny). Will definitely come back and stay at the Banyan (we were staying elsewhere), and thanks for all the attention and royal treatment we were subject to. The staff behaved like real ambassadors to both KL...

Re: Appreciation post

It was certainly delightful and an unforgettable experience after staying 8 nights at Banyan hotel and 7 nights at Banyan Residence Kuala Lumpur.

Every breakfast, we were warmly greeted by Horizon team. They knew our names, our usual order and preffered table.

Food is superb and ridiculously delicious! Thank you chefs.

EVERY single team member provides impeccable customer service. Unfortunately not everyone have name badges so we could only mention a few at the very least to show our gratitude and acknowledgement of their exceptional service:

Suaib Mansur, Horizon outlet manager. Your true charm, leadership and warmth never cease to impress us. We could see your exceptional leadership reflected through your team members. You're truly an asset!

Fa, Horizon team thank you for your sincerity. Didi, Horizon team thank you for always putting a smile. Munir Ahmad; Horizon team thank you for your positive vibes and your customer engagement is excellent.

Cleaners who mopped the floors ensuring safety for everyone. Thank you.

Cleaners who cleaned the water feature around the Horizon restaurant. Your daily work does not go unrecognised. We hope the management team will remove the artificial plants and create minimalist vibe.

In all, everyone is just like any of us trying to work and make a living. We appreciate every one of them so much that even made us extend our stay longer at the hotel and now closer to the hotel.

@everyone, please continuously treat them well.

Will miss you all Horizon team. Regards Paulina...
