Let's start by telling you that we had the nicest evening at Bayan's venues. It all started at the restaurant, Horizon, featuring of of the nicest views I've experienced for dinner. Munir, our waiter greeted us courteously and took us to our table (no hassle with our reservation at all). Then we were offered the menu and bothered the variety and range of prices they offer is vast. I had the chicken rolls with salad and my wife had the seafood créme and then salmon. For the main course. My chicken was superb. Although I've found it hard in Asia to eat their spicy food, the chicken had the perfect balance of giving you a taste of spice but not overwhelming at all. En lieu, it boasted the chicken's natural flavor and the side salad could t have been fresher. The mix of flavors, textures, presentation and freshness of my wife's dinner was also a highlight. You can tell no element was ever frozen or canned. All fresh here. Then, for dessert my wife had a brownie and I had their signature XXX and again the flavor and creativity of their culinary art, were displayed. Munir (our waiter), accompanied us to the balcony to help us with our pictures, and since he knew it was our first time in KL, he took his time to share with us some of the notable buildings' stories and fun facts. We were so pleased by our dinner that we told our waiter to give our compliments to the chef, who, afterwards, took the time to come to our table to greet us and thank us for having chided their venue for the occasion. After such dinner, Munir escorted us upstairs, to their Vertigo bar and we were greeted by the manager who immediately offered us a very nice table by the window. The service, was again, Impeccable. We were delighted for the KL view, some of her DJs mellow beats (they would even play. Birthday song for us since we were celebrating my wife's), and as soon as a some srats became available outdoors, they moved us there. The drinks were nice, the value was right (you don't get this view, level of service and facilities for free, but it is worth every penny). Will definitely come back and stay at the Banyan (we were staying elsewhere), and thanks for all the attention and royal treatment we were subject to. The staff behaved like real ambassadors to both KL...
Read moreMy second time here hoping to see improvement on the service but after this second visit, I don't think I will be back the 3rd time.
My first visit was end May this year, the view indeed impressive and ambiance is everything you'd expect from high end restaurant. But we were let down by the service:
We ordered 2 bottles of red wine and servers had difficulty opening the bottles and spilled the wine. More wine was spilled when it was being poured into our glasses. Servers definitely didn't know how to pour wine correctly, not serving the lady first could be forgiven but not when you rest the bottles onto the glass itself when pouring. This could cause the glass to break/chip. Later the evening, almost an entire glass of wine was tipped over by the server, causing a big mess at our table. No apology from the manager, nor any offer to compensate for the spill - we still paid full amount for wine that was drank by the napkins, table and the floor.
Food wise, it was very well cooked. Salads were seasoned well and beautifully presented. Our company of 6 ordered the Japanese premium steaks and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal.
Second visit was yesterday for dinner. Upon being shown our table, there was a bread crumb on the seat, instead of picking it up and apologizing for that, the usher just swipe it off the chair, its surprising for a high end restaurant to behave like a kopitiam for sure.
Next, i had them change our drinking glasses due to very visible lipstick stains from previous use. This time around, no butter was offered to accompany our breads. But its a minor point since we did have olive oil and balsamic vinegar. Breads were good.
For appetisers, ordered hokkaido scallops, and garden salad. Scallops were overcooked and thus became chewy, that was RM148 worth of appetiser down the drain. Salad was under seasoned and didnt look anything as presentable as the first time I was here. Appears they ran out of edible flowers as compared to the first time we were here.
Next, our mains. Ordered the Miyazaki tenderloin and Tokushima sirloin, again cooked well and the meat was wonderful.
Overall, the misses really dampened the evening. Its a pity though, I hope you...

Cleaners who cleaned the water feature around the Horizon restaurant. Your daily work does not go unrecognised. We hope the management team will remove the artificial plants and create minimalist vibe.
In all, everyone is just like any of us trying to work and make a living. We appreciate every one of them so much that even made us extend our stay longer at the hotel and now closer to the hotel.
@everyone, please continuously treat them well.
Will miss you all Horizon team. Regards Paulina...
