Dined at the restaurant for dinner when the hotel newly opened. It was amazing at the time. After a few years had a birthday lunch booked for my wife. The experience was less than amazing and the price we paid not quite justified. When I called I asked for a quiet table and also the possibility of a small slice of cake to be arranged. Surely not a big ask for a 5 star hotel of that reputation and size. When we arrived the place was quite busy with a business clientèle lunch crowd. We were given a choice of a table in the middle of the dining room or a tatami table which was not ideal with a 2 year old child. During the booking asked for a child seat as well which obviously with the not pre defined table was not prepared either. No acknowledgement by the waitress either during arrival of my wife's birthday so I guess either the message was not passed on or they were just too busy. Staffing was not adequate as there were other employees from other departments helping out which was easily noticed due to the different uniform. For lunch sets ranging from RM150-300 each in average the meal was mediocre. The sushi set we ordered had small pieces of sushi which resembled nothing you have in Japan or other more traditional Japanese restaurants in KL. The soup was not very tasty and flavourful. The dessert was jelly with diced fruits which were taken from the waiter station near the sushi bar evidently suggesting that it was sitting there for a prolonged amount of time. Overall very disappointing and kind of subdued the occasion. There are better place out there where for the price you feel that you are getting a meal in an ambience you will enjoy with a higher quality of food and...

My recent dining experience at Iketeru was profoundly disappointing and frankly, humiliating. Having invited a friend, I was mortified by the abysmal quality of both food and service. The omakase was a disaster – the lobster was inedibly salty, even after a failed second attempt and an absurd 'sea water' excuse. Other dishes were similarly unacceptable: overcooked, rubbery seafood, a tough somen noodles fish fit for disposal, mushy onigiri worse than convenience store quality, and offensively salty soup. The desserts didn’t get any better, tempura ice cream with mouthful of grease with melted ice cream. Service was negligent; staff ignored allergy protocols, offered dismissive 'solutions' like removing ice cream from an allergen-laden dessert, and provided lip service apologies while ignoring plates of rejected food. The suggestion to offer refreshing complimentary drinks to tolerate the saltiness exemplifies the lack of care. Being asked to pay in full and return after such an ordeal, followed by a belated and inadequate 'service recovery' offer the next day, felt insulting. I came expecting Hilton quality and was prepared to pay for it; instead, I endured culinary torment and was made to feel like I was angling for a discount. This entire experience was unacceptable and a severe indictment of the...

Ambience: Slightly dim, decorated with iron sculptures & partitioned with shatter-effect glass panels, it's considerably cosy. Leather lined tables are quite well maintained.
Service: Entered restaurant & only to be greeted after a few mins. The welcome to checking our reservation to seating us, zero warmth & energy by a Malay lady. After 15 mins being given the menu, no one came to check on us. Finally our waving hands caught the eye of a pleasant Chinese guy who was smiley in most instances. No one was proactive to refill our green tea & each request took quite a while. The wait between dishes took abt 15-20mins. When we were leaving, staffs did not bid goodbye.
Food: Overall quality 2nite (06/08/17) was underwhelming. • Sushio sashimi (6 types) 7/10 over 3 days old. • Crab fried rice @ 7/10 smells better than taste. • Wagyu sirloin @ 7/10 natural sweetness overpowered by other seasonings. • Seafood platter (halibut, scallop, king prawn) @ 4/10 Halibut perfectly cooked & seasoned. Scallop & prawn overcooked & rubbery. These 2 were replaced by salmon..vry crispy skin but over seasoned w salt & the miso dressing killed its natural sweetness. • Boston Lobster @ 6/10 salty, tough membrane left intack with flesh, lack freshness & overdressed with sauce.
Bill was abt RM1060...
