SkyBar at Traders Hotel KL: Rooftop Vibes with Iconic Twin Towers Views

If you’re looking for one of Kuala Lumpur’s most iconic rooftop bars, SkyBar at Traders Hotel KL is a must-visit.

With its open-air setting, stunning Petronas Twin Towers views, and chic cabana seating right next to the rooftop pool, it’s the perfect spot to unwind with cocktails and bites while soaking in the city skyline.

Ambiance & Views SkyBar’s rooftop pool and relaxed cabana seating make it one of the most unique bar experiences in KL. Whether you're lounging by the pool or grabbing a table for drinks, the unobstructed view of the Petronas Twin Towers is simply breathtaking—especially at night when the towers are all lit up.

The music, buzzing energy, and vibrant crowd add to the experience, making it a go-to spot for both visitors and locals.

What I Had 🧀 Cheese Platter (RM 75) – A nice selection of Brie, Port Salut, Gouda, and Parmigiano, served with olives, almonds, fresh fruit, and sourdough. A perfect sharing snack to go with the cocktails.

🍗 Chicken Popcorn Basket (RM 35) – Crispy, chili-cumin seasoned fried chicken bites, paired with BBQ aioli. A solid, flavorful bar snack!

🍟 Truffle Fries (RM 20) – Crispy, golden fries infused with truffle oil, giving them that rich umami kick. Simple but always a winner.

🍟 Togarashi Curly Fries (RM 22) – Spicy, crunchy, and addictive! The Japanese togarashi seasoning adds a unique touch to these curly fries, making them extra flavorful.

Cocktails & Drinks 🍍 Piña Colada – A tropical mix of rum, Malibu coconut rum, pineapple juice, fresh milk, and coconut syrup. Creamy, refreshing, and always a classic.

🍸 Sky Sling – A unique twist on the classic sling, featuring bitter cucumber, elderflower liqueur, gin, hibiscus, and pineapple. Floral, fruity, and super refreshing!

🥃 Long Island Iced Tea – A strong and classic mix of vodka, rum, gin, tequila, triple sec, and cola—perfect if you want something bold and boozy.

☕ Espresso Martini – A smooth and rich blend of vodka, espresso, coffee liqueur, and a touch of sweetness—great if you need a little pick-me-up while enjoying the KL skyline.

Final Thoughts: A Rooftop Experience You Can’t Miss

SkyBar is a must-visit rooftop bar in KL, offering fantastic cocktails, tasty bar bites, and one of the best Twin Towers views in the city. Whether you’re here for sunset drinks, a fun night out, or just to soak in the skyline from a cozy cabana, the experience is always elevated, stylish, and...

SkyBar is a bar inside the Traders Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, with spectacular views of the Petronas Towers. This view, especially at night, is fantastic.

The 2nd star is purely due to the views of the park, surrounding hotels, light show in the pond (in the park) and of course the Petronas Towers. SkyBar itself would get 1 star.

We came during off season, there were not a lot of guests, but a good amount of service staff.

Ambiance: I am not sure how to describe it. There's an odd mix of tourists, many of which just want pics with the towers and spend most of their time taking pictures/selfies and business people (there's a conference center in the hotel). The pool in the middle looks pretty with the lights on, but it isn't set up to invite you to swim. Yes you CAN swim, but nobody does. There's the feel of being at an indoor pool tho. Humid with a weird smell of chemicals and chlorine. One side is lined with cabana-inspired benches, right by the windows. Here you'll get the best view of the towers. The other side has high tops, way to close together. You can hardly pull out a chair without bumping in to a chair from another table.

Service: The first night, we walked in and where immediately shuffled to the high top area by the bar. The "cabanas" where about 1/3 occupied but all open tables had a "reserved" sign on them. We ordered drinks and some food. After the second round of drinks was brought to us, we were informed that from now on we'd have to go to the bar to order. There would be no more table-side service. Apparently it only applied to us (ordering at the bar), as tables around us still had a waiter come by. Strange.

On the way out we asked the hostess about getting a cabana and since we stayed at the hotel, were able to reserve one for the next day. When we arrived the next day we were again shuffled to the high-tops. We explained we have reservations for the cabana and eventually were brought back to the hostess desk to get the table we asked for. Service at the cabana was better, but still spotty. We would order, but nothing arrived. This happened several times. We probably would have consumed more, if we actually received what we ordered.

I'd say go for the view, but have low expectations...

The view is undeniably the highlight of this place. Unfortunately, it’s the only redeeming factor. Without it, I wouldn’t have chosen this bar, especially when there are other options that offer not just great views but also better service.

From the moment we arrived, the experience was disappointing. The staff repeatedly requested us to settle the bill, which made us feel like we were being rushed to leave. A security guard also approached us and asked us to remove our cameras from the windowsill. While we understood the reasoning, his tone was unnecessarily harsh and rude. A polite request would have sufficed.

What stood out most was the lack of clear communication and courtesy. We took window seats to photograph the view, as no one directed us otherwise. Yet, a senior staff member questioned why we were there, despite it being evident that we were just taking photos. The worst experience came from a particular waitress. After serving my friend’s drink, she questioned another staff member in Malay about how we managed to get the window seats—unaware that we could understand her.

As we were leaving, she informed us we were required to spend RM100 for sitting at the window seats. This policy was never communicated to us at the beginning of our visit, which left us feeling blindsided and unwelcome. We settled only the existing bill and left.

I’ve also come across other reviews mentioning racism, and while I cannot confirm this, my experience with that particular waitress makes me inclined to believe it might be an issue here.

If you’re looking for a bar with great views and genuinely welcoming service, I would recommend skipping this skybar. There are far better alternatives where you’ll feel...

We came here on weekday evening. The place wasn’t busy and we requested for a window seating. We were told that the window seatings required advanced booking and it was fully booked for the night until 11pm. Alternatively, we can get the window seatings if we spend minimum Rm100 per person or if we are staying in the Traders hotel. We end up getting a table that is not facing the window. The staff who took our order is incredibly rude, arrogant and very pushy in asking us to order alcohol. And, he also asked us to pay the bill when the items we ordered weren’t serve yet. After spending more than two hours at the place there are still plenty of vacant window seatings. So, we asked the staff if is possible to move to the window seatings since they were vacant for more than 2 hours. The same staff spoke to us in a condescending manner that the seats were fully booked and nothing much he can do. My honest opinion is that the place is not worth visiting except for the city view. The service is horrible, the place is over priced, and the overall ambience is mediocre. The place is hot and humid with the smell of chlorine since the pool is located in the middle of the place. It was really an unpleasant visit and strongly do not recommend this place. I hope the particular service staff we interacted with can be more hospitable towards customers. Rating one star because I have to.

All the hype doesn't deliver! We came here on New Years Day for a drink...we had planned on having a few but after paying MYR88 for a cocktail that tasted like petrol and MYR45 for a lemon, lime and bitters with gin that was made with a drop of bitters and then soda water, we decided to go elsewhere. There is no seating with a view of the towers unless you want to pay MYR700 for a window lounge...the free seating is a few bar stools at the back behind the bar. The pool is nice and all, but it is useless, you can't swim in it and it takes up any room for a dance floor. I am a professional photographer, I though I'd try get a few snaps of the view...I only got one before I was pounced on by bar staff saying I couldn't take photos, though I was flanked by everyone else and their phones taking selfies and photos. A few minutes later the same staff approached timidly and said I just couldn't use my small tripod...I told him to forget it...we left after that. For all the hype around this place, it certainty doesn't not deliver with service or atmosphere.
