The Meal
Signature Herbal Chicken Rice with Cordyceps: This dish is the highlight of the meal. The chicken is tender and flavorful, infused with a rich herbal broth that exudes warmth and nourishment. The cordyceps add a unique earthy aroma, making the dish feel both luxurious and healthful.
Sesame Rice: The sesame rice is a fragrant accompaniment, adding a nutty, toasty flavor that perfectly complements the herbal chicken. Its texture is satisfying, with just the right balance of softness and chewiness.
Winter Melon Drink: A light and refreshing beverage that pairs beautifully with the warm, hearty dishes. The mild sweetness and cooling properties of the drink offer a pleasant contrast to the robust herbal flavors of the meal.
White Soya Dessert: The dessert is the perfect way to end the meal. Its creamy, silky texture and subtle sweetness create a wholesome and comforting finish.
Overall Comment
The dining experience at Souper Tang is highly enjoyable, thanks to its serene environment and high-quality dishes that strike a balance between flavor and nourishment. While the meal is satisfying, the price point leans toward the higher side, which may make it a less frequent indulgence for some. Read moreGetting here was easy with the MRT station just below the shopping complex but finding the restaurant was a bit of a challenge with its location enclosed in a different wing. The restaurant greeted us with its merchandise nicely displayed at the front of the shop. I must say the restaurant is well lit and nicely decorated. It is spacious too. We booked a room for a big group of 11. After going through the menu, we decided to settle for a set menu for 8 and added 2 more dishes since there were 11 of us. As we were the first table, the soup was served fairly fast. It was fish maw soup with superior stock. We truly enjoyed the soup as it was full of collagen and tasty too. Then came the dishes soon after that, the menu consisted of lotus with dried scallops, charcoal tofu, red braised pork belly, deep fried fish in special sauce, braised chicken, stir fried cabbage with dried shrimps, braised egg plants and foo yong eggs with prawn. I quite like the lotus with dried scallops, the taste was pretty intense and different from others. The braise pork was a little bit dried as it was served on a hot plate. The chicken was so so only. The fish was not too bad but I think it would had tasted better if the fish slices were thicker. Both the tofu and cabbage were average. Nothing special. Then came the dessert, we love the dessert as the ingredients combi was great with bean curd mixed with black jelly and other condiments. Overall, we enjoyed the meal. The serving of the dishes were quite small for 8. The restaurant was pretty quiet for a Saturday lunch. There were only few more tables beside us. I may come back again for the...
Read moreHad lunch here with a group of colleagues (10 of us) on 4 Nov 2025. We ordered floral tea but later realised it was wrongly served. When we clarified with the waiter, instead of an apology, she confirmed the tea served was Da Hong Pao which was not what we ordered and pointed out that both teas were priced the same, so they wouldn’t adjust the bill.
As regular customers, we were quite disappointed by this attitude. The error was clear, yet there was no sense of ownership or basic courtesy to offer an apology or replacement. The focus seemed to be more on defending the bill rather than addressing the mistake.
We raised it to the cashier, who did apologise but again repeated that it was the same price, which made the apology feel insincere. When we asked how to provide feedback, we were told to “just post on Google review.”
So here it is. We truly hope the management reads this and seriously reviews how service recovery is being handled because a restaurant’s reputation isn’t just built on good food, but on how it treats its loyal customers when...
