I’ve been a loyal fan of Mum Way Kitchen and chief lady since 2017 from a high recommendation from one of my Aussie friends. After that I regularly traveled to Malacca from overseas just for this fabulous local cuisine, like at least twice a year until the pandemic’s arrival. I really sensed a strong feeling of home-like welcome and friendly hosting here, offered food she prepared with full heart and patience. It’s like omakase style but all well served with selected ingredients and unique cooking. As a senior foodie I really have zero complaint about it and I’m glad to bring my besties here if we could find a holiday chance. I used to visit the old diner place and now it’s been relocated to downtown area next to the riverside, giving you much convenient access to historical sites for a walk after dinning in. I would highly recommend this place to any readers finding my review. Enjoy food, culture and everlasting friendship here.

It is not our day to try out this makan place because its chef is out for certain urgent matter to attend. We are left with only one option - minced meat rice (紅米燥肉飯). With the price of RM6 per bowl, you are served with brown rice, tasty minced meat and bok choy vegetable. Very healthy food, no ajinomoto, not too salty! Will definitely come back for other food. #nonhalal #meattoo

Simple home cooked style food that’s great for a quick and easy meal. Special shout-out for the lady fingers with anchovies though, the crunchy ikan bilis was perfectly fried and goes so well with the lightly seasoned lady fingers. Place sells a lot of interesting stuff too so can browse around while waiting for food.

Location is hidden in some back lane accessible by small cars only and parking is a nightmare. Entered their shopfront infested with mozzies and served by staffs with an attitude. They insisted you can only use their digital menu to place order. I wonder if only tech savvy foodies are allowed there.

Overall tastes of dishes are ok and price is reasonable but I won't return. Prefer to consume food in an conducive environment and be served by staffs with more professionalism and quality especially in a post pandemic new normal where business survival is priority. Moreover they couldn't afford a proper air exhaust system to purge the aroma of their cooking out of the kitchen and prefers to let diners' precious garments do the job. In short, attitude & poor service will end the...

I called to make a reservation the other day. The owner is so friendly. My reservation is at 8pm, though they said they are going to close soon, but they asked us whether we are from melaka or from outstation. She tried to accommodate us even at that time. We stayed till about 9.10pm. Food is really good. Very homey taste, and I like the way they prepare it with full of flavours and colors. Please call first...
