In The Mood Cafe — Restaurant in Sarawak

Beautiful cafe with a dark moody vibe. The staffs were friendly and service was quick. The cafe was quite small and a popular spot for youngsters to hang out and do work. There were many delicious cakes on display too.

Heres what we ordered: CALLEBAUT MOUSSE CAKE (RM15). A deliciously rich and creamy cake! The chocolate used was of quality and wasn’t too sweet with a hint of bitterness for balance. It was smooth and soft which melts in the mouth.

OATLY MATCHA FLOAT. Delicious Niko Neko matcha with oatmilk and an ice cream centre. The matcha was normal but the ice cream made it exceptionally creamier.

BISCOFF CREAM LATTE. A balanced latte with tonnes of biscoff without it being overly sweet. It tastes similar to a shortbread latte. The dissolved biscoff crumbs could get a little grainy in the drink. The coffee was more acidic but not overpowering the biscoff.

RED BEAN MILK. A delicious simple drink of just red bean and milk. Its only slightly sweet which is good for non sweet tooths.

Dropped by for coffee and cakes with my friend. Ordered matcha earl grey cake and match burnt cheesecake. The flavor of matcha earl grey cake is well balanced. For matcha burnt cheesecake, it is not overly bitter or matcha forward as we can still taste the flavor of basic burnt cheesecake coupled with slight bitterness and umaminess of matcha flavor. The dark choco mocha and ice latte were good. Most importantly, the service is excellent and the owner/staffs were so friendly. The shop owner/staff even gave us some of her own free kuih made by her friend (not for sales) to sample. Overall, will definitely come back again for the cakes. Nice and cosy place to chill out. Good ambience & music. Limited power points (2 that I could see) if you wanted to do some work. Very good range of coffee and teas, especially matchas. Also lots of selections of cakes. They also serve hot food. Cakes were nice. (Have not tried their hot food, though.) I wondered why it didn't have more patrons the 2 times that I'd visited.
