Stopped here on my way back from PPUM, stomach growling like an angry bear. Did a quick Google search for a good burger, and this little troublemaker popped up. Reviews looked promising, so why not?
Walked in, and the place was buzzing with energy—mostly teens, making me feel like an undercover uncle on a mission. Lined up, waited, and finally reached the counter. Ordered the ShackBurger Double because the plain double beef burger looked sadder than my bank account after payday. Got a fancy little beeping device and a receipt in exchange for RM33—ouch, but hey, good burgers aren’t cheap, right?
Waited 10 minutes, did some people-watching, and realized this isn’t exactly a hangout spot for the tua-tua keladi gang. Beeper went off like a mini fire alarm, so I went to claim my prize. They handed me a brown paper bag like I had just made a top-secret transaction. Inside? Burger, some Heinz ketchup packets (both chili and tomato—because choices), and tissues.
Now, I could’ve eaten inside like a civilized person, but I have a sacred ritual: burgers are best devoured in the car. So off I went, parked, and unboxed my feast. First sight: tomato. I frowned. Opened it up—massive beef patties staring back at me like they knew they were about to be demolished. Took a bite—boom! Juicy, flavorful, and messy in all the right ways. No sauce? No problem. The beef juices were doing all the heavy lifting.
Tried it with Heinz chili and tomato ketchup. Surprisingly, the tomato ketchup didn’t offend me—probably because my taste buds were already doing a happy dance.
Would I eat this again? Yes. But next time, I’m ditching the tomatoes and extras. Just give me double beef, double cheese, and...
Read moreTried the new Shake Shack at Sunway Pyramid and it definitely lives up to the hype! The location is great, right in the heart of the mall, and the outlet itself has a bright, modern design that feels welcoming. The ordering process was smooth, with friendly staff at the counter who were patient in explaining the menu for first-timers.
I ordered the ShackBurger and crinkle-cut fries, and both were delicious. The burger was juicy with a soft potato bun, fresh lettuce, tomato, and their signature ShackSauce which tied everything together perfectly. The fries were crispy on the outside, fluffy inside, and paired really well with cheese sauce. I also tried their classic vanilla shake – rich, creamy, and not overly sweet, just the right balance.
The food did take a little while to arrive since it was peak hour, but the staff handled the crowd well and made sure everything came out fresh. Portion sizes are just nice – filling but not too heavy. Price-wise, it’s on the higher side compared to fast food, but you’re paying for premium quality, and it shows.
What I liked most is that the vibe is casual yet a little more elevated than typical burger chains, making it a nice place to sit down with friends or family after shopping. Definitely a spot I’ll return to whenever I’m craving a good...
Read moreI have been to Shake Shacks around the world. Tokyo, Bangkok, Singapore and our very own TRX. I came here with a keen eye. How would it compare to the others that I have been to before, all of which were all absolutely great experiences. My honest review is that there are some teething issues on the service side and a little on the food side. The cashier inputted an extra vanilla shake order compared to what I ordered. My order had to be canceled and redone. The food pick-up staff did not give me 3 of my shakes until I prompted them that I had those in my order. The condiments and tissue station is absent and instead you had to ask for these items from the food pick-up staff who will provide you limited amounts compared to what we felt we needed (asking for more is always awkward!). The handwash station which is a welcome convenience after eating a greasy burger, fries and hot dog was non-existent. We had to wash our hands at the mall's washroom outside the restaurant. We ordered 3 milkshakes, all the milkshakes were runnier compared to the other outlets, disappointing and absolutely not up to the Shake Shack mark. I will be back in a few months to see if anything changes but for now, I'm...
