Bare in mind this was during my time of experience during Iftar 2025…
Hi, I would like to share my feedback regarding my dining experience at your restaurant.
My friend and I were quite disappointed and dissatisfied with the customer service we received. Our food took an unusually long time to arrive—about 30 minutes to almost an hour after ordering. What made it even more frustrating was that we noticed other tables receiving their orders much faster than us, despite ordering after we did. We monitored from afar and saw food being served to other customers without issue, while we were left waiting, which made us angry and frustrated.
I opted for the Supa Luxury Set Buffet with the intention of enjoying more of the A5 Wagyu meat. However, despite repeatedly calling the servers, we only received a few plates, each arriving with long delays. Instead of being able to fully enjoy the premium selection, we mostly ended up eating the initial dishes provided, as the additional orders took far too long to arrive. On top of that, the staff kept bringing us incorrect items, completely ignoring what we had actually ordered. We had to tell them multiple times that they had given us the wrong dishes before they finally checked the receipt and admitted that we were right.
Additionally, one of the last plates of A5 Wagyu that arrived was clearly meant for only one plate, yet the staff claimed that it was for two sets. However, I am not dumb, and I know the exact portion size per plate because I had taken a picture of it earlier for reference. It was obvious that what we received was not the correct amount.
My drink only arrived just minutes before 9:30 PM, leaving me to drink my friend’s drink and plain ice water the entire time. The cake celebration, which I had specifically requested to be served at 8:50 PM, was also delayed significantly. Even after it finally arrived, no plates or forks were provided for us. We had to repeatedly ask the staff, yet no one brought them for a long time. In the end, my friend—the birthday guest himself—had to stand up and get the plates and forks himself from your plate counter. I find it unacceptable that such a basic service was overlooked, especially considering that I paid for a premium dining experience.
To make matters worse, when I brought up my dissatisfaction at the payment counter, the staff member simply kept smiling and apologizing in a way that felt dismissive rather than sincere. At that point, I was already frustrated with the entire experience, and the lack of genuine concern only made it worse.
I want to emphasize that I do appreciate the quality of the meat served at your restaurant, but I cannot ignore the fact that the service made me feel completely ripped off. I look forward to...
Read moreWe had during our dinner reservation for five pax on 6 September 2025 at your Sunway Pyramid outlet. While we have always enjoyed dining at Supamala in the past, this visit fell short of the high standards we have come to expect. We ordered the Supaluxury Buffet, but unfortunately, several items we requested were mistakenly sent to the VIP room next to us. This led to long delays—over 30 minutes—before we received key items, and we had to fill up on rice while repeatedly watching dishes bypass us for the VIP table. 1 staff mentioned that abalone would take 10 minutes to defrost, only for it to later be brought out directly from the VIP room—raising serious hygiene concerns. The situation made it very clear that your VIP guests were being prioritized over regular paying customers, which left us feeling overlooked and poorly treated. The A5 Wagyu beef served also appeared of lower quality than expected, with an excessive fat ratio, which was not reflective of the premium price charged. In addition, drink refills were slow and often required us to request them directly at the counter. We do not object to being charged RM189.90 even for my 10-year-old son, but at this price point, both food and service should have been consistent with the quality promised — which, in this case, they were not. To make matters worse, after we had already paid our bill and left, your staff contacted us multiple times regarding a billing error made by them. While we agreed to resolve this, the manner in which it was handled was extremely unprofessional. We were pressed repeatedly for payment within minutes, even though we had explained we were still in transit with unstable internet access. This follow-up, so soon after such a disappointing dining experience, was unnecessary, stressful, and left us with an even more negative impression. We value Supamala and would like to continue being loyal customers. However, this experience was...
Read moreWe managed to try this place for the first time during Buka Puasa, so I'm not sure how the food or service is during other times. The buffet price was RM59.90++ per pax.
We arrived at the restaurant at 6.30 pm, ordered in advance, then left to stroll at Sunway Pyramid. When we came back at 7.00 pm, only a few items were available on the table. Even at 7.25 pm, almost buka puasa time, the beef, duck and lamb hadn't arrived yet, and some of the dishes came later after buka puasa. Perhaps all the food can be ready early if we order much earlier.
The waiter were rushing here and there to prepare other customers' orders. Plus, there are two waiters who can't understand English or Malay.
Then, after all the dishes arrived, only then we realized there weren't many options compared to other steamboat restaurants. The sauce tastes just okay. We didn't like the Tomyam soup. It's a bit salty and after a while, you feel full or "muak" because the "Tomyam soup" is so thick, like laksa unlike other normal Tomyam and you will get full fast. But I like the Keropok Lekor and the Pandan kuih and the Chicken Collagen soup is recommended.
This is an ala carte style, not a typical spread steamboat or hotpot buffet. You need to order what you want and finish all that. The options not as varied as Suki-ya, Yipinlao Citta Mall, Seoul Garden etc. Fyi, customers need to finish whatever they ordered, regardless of whether it is raw or cooked. Even a basket of raw vege can cost you RM30+ (100 grams = RM30). So be careful when ordering because a few customers before us was charged RM60 and RM120+ for the access to food. Luckily, we managed to finish all.
We didn't like the band. Please just play the radio rather than having a band that spoils the ambiance. Plus, they are like humming sometimes as they forget the lyrics. Overall, we were not really satisfied with the...
