N'duja Osteria — Restaurant in Valletta

Accepted without reservation and initially thought we were in for a good experience — before realising what we were getting ourselves into. Service-wise, everything felt forced and uninterested, with no sense of genuine care or accommodation.

We were seated outside, and after our order was taken, we didn’t see a single server for nearly an hour. Eventually, we had to go inside ourselves to ask how long the food would be, as it had started to rain. The front of house casually replied that the food was ready, but they were “fully booked” and couldn’t seat us inside — even though there were clearly several free tables visible. So, we were expected to sit outside and eat in the rain?

Only after it became obvious how bad that looked, with every customer watching, did the front of house decide to seat us inside. Once there, we noticed every other table — all of whom had arrived after us — had been given bread and condiments before their meals. We received nothing.

The food itself was good, but not nearly good enough to justify the hefty price or the poor treatment. Overall, the experience was unacceptable. You can easily find better value and far better service elsewhere....

Came by (15/08) after seeing the fantastic reviews and food pictures. We wanted to book for lunch at 13:30 (being aware that the restaurant closes at 15), the waitress guy kept trying to convince us for 13 instead of 13:30 in a very aggressive way, he even smashed the notebook and started to make sounds with the mouth and whisper stuff???We walked out with the reservation but prior to the lunch time booking, my mother and I agreed on how weird the whole reaction was and that of course we’re not going to eat at a place like this, no matter how good the food is. I’m aware that today is Festa ta' Assunta and I imagined that the guy wanted to leave early or something. Man, do better!

The place has a great vibe and decoration though and I’m sure that the food is fantastic. What a waste to leave your restaurant under people like these… if I was the owner, I would like to know this. We would have loved...

unfortunately my experience at the restaurant was terrible. I invited my friends for dinner. We booked a table at the restaurant, placed our order, they brought us wine and food, I have no complaints about the dishes. While we were enjoying the evening, I noticed something moving on my friend's shoulder. And to our horror, a cockroach was walking along my friend’s back. HUGE COCKROACH! It was just a nightmare, I even jumped up on a chair, it was disgusting. As it turned out, at that moment the owner of the restaurant was inside. When we asked for the bill, the waiter brought us the full bill of 120 euros without a discount. When we reminded him about the cockroach, he said that he forgot that we had a cockroach. If cockroaches are walking around the restaurant on the backs of customers, I’m afraid to imagine what’s happening in the kitchen. Overall, it was the most terrible...
