CUEVA — Restaurant in Mexico City

What a gem in Roma Norte! We accidentally stumbled into Cueva on New Year’s Eve. As most other places had a set price and menu for that evening. We were looking to have an early dinner and call it a night. Cueva was able to seat all 6 of us, the restaurant was aesthetically pleasing and had a nice patio area. We were promptly presented with the menu and all of our questions were answered. We decided to try several items off the menu and share them family style and if they were good, we would order more. Wow, we were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, presentation, and taste. We ended ordering more, from the steak to the bone marrow nothing disappointed. We had a bottle of wine our waiter suggested, a couple of mixed drinks, and some beers. We shared several of the desserts and they even gave us shots at the end of the meal on the house. We look forward to visiting again don’t pass up this hidden gem. Great food...

One of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had in Mexico City.

We ordered steak, and none of it was edible. The steak tasted like it had been sitting around for days; dry, cold, flavorless, and careless in its preparation. Both plates were so poorly made that we left them untouched. For a bill of over $100 USD, it was shocking to see such little respect for the food or the customers. The kitchen clearly does not take pride in what they serve, and the lack of quality control shows. If you value your money, your time, and your stomach, avoid this place completely. There are far better restaurants in CDMX, this one...

I stumbled upon Cueva as I was exploring the area and must say it’s super relaxing for an early afternoon cocktail. I ordered the Filet Tiradito, and with the pita, bread and sauces they brought out it was Amazing. That food was great. Daniel, the bartender was fantastic and very attentive. The rest of the crew were all friendly to me as well. As a gringo who speaks only English….. I highly recommend you stop by. I did not eat out there, but they do have a very pretty courtyard in the back, and the weather is perfect today! Gracias Cueva….Dia de Los...
