Allstars Steakhouse — Restaurant in Amsterdam

Family of 4 (mam, dad and 2 grown up kids) for late lunch (14;40) daughter got a blue lagoon e10.50 which she enjoyed. was huge. we had large coke e5.50 which was also as it should be with lots of taste and not stupid amounts of ice. skipped starters. mains of fillet steak 225g e29.95 well done. came as it should and a good size cooked just rite as were the skin on chips

Beef burger plus bacon 180g with chips e15.95. Good lump of burger with skin on chips. very picky eater son ate the lot.

chicken pasta special with penne e13.95. wife said it was delicious.

ham pizza. e13.95. roughly 10''. tasty base and topping cooked nice. ate the lot (most pizza ive ate for months due to meds.)

wife said toilets were clean if not a little small and if im honest the place could do with a light refurbishment but the quality of the food we received was far better than expected.

waitress was pleasant and patient. spoke English fluently which is a bonus.general ambience was relaxed and calming with plenty seating with every age group catered for. food was served in reasonable time from order. children menu if needed.

would we go again? Yes! we will visit again next time we are in the area.

only dropped a star due to needing a light facelift other than that we couldn't fault it. Value for money imo.

A stain on an otherwise beautiful city. The inedible food wouldn't have bothered us as much had the service been in any way decent, which it wasn't. I'd like to preface this with that I've never left a bad review anywhere, but I feel like everyone should know what they're in for in this place! Our starter arrived with our main, cold as it had been sitting on the bay for 20 minutes, and our plates were slammed down on our table by the man who had originally told us to come in to eat as we walked by. I had to ask for my bill twice as the waiter wasn't listening because was paying more attention to his phone than our table.. the only table in the restaurant.. Our bill came to 40 euros for a salad, a measly burger covered in grease, a portion of bread, a glass of house wine and a beer. There was no thank you, goodbye or even acknowledgement from the waiter as we left either. Completely ruined our last night, feeling so unwelcome and as though we paid a fortune for a horrible meal and atrocious service. Do yourself a favor and skip this restaurant. There are plenty more places with great food, great prices and lovely service and this is just not...

Despiste being located on a nice place, the food was inedible. The owner ( white shirt and hat) will charm you promising a nice service and say that if the food it’s bad he won’t charge you anything. We ate and my girlfriend’s food was awful, the chicken had no taste and then we noticed it was basically raw. We mentioned this to the owner and he said that is how it’s supposed to be cooked ( we all know that’s not true). As I reminded him what he said if the food was bad, he escalated and yelled at me saying that I was disrespecting his business. I tried to calm down the owner but he just kept yelling at me, I was just respectfully complaining as anyone would have but he just kept being rude and in the end he basically forced us to pay for the entire dish even though it was barely touched. In my opinion, it’s impossible to recommend a place where the owner is rude and basically a scammer, also because in the end the prices are a bit higher on the menu than what you’ll see advertised...
