Food is outstanding, ambience is great. Service was lacking.

Before 5pm only snacks can be ordered. The full dinner menu is available after 5pm until 9pm.

I arrived just before 5pm and was told I could already order my food. I requested the market fish. At first I was told it wasn't available but then the server corrected herself and said it was. I sat down with my drink but no food arrived. At 5:30pm I went to the server station and requested to order the fish. The order went through.

By this time, other tables had started to fill up. Servers went to their tables, took orders and served karafs of water. I was ignored. So I got up a second time and requested some water.

After the main meal was served I wanted dessert. No-one came. I had to request the dessert menu. No-one took my order, I had to get up to go to the server's bar to place the order. I made a comment that no-one was serving me but it was dismissed.

Finally, I assumed that no-one would bring me the bill so I went to the server's station a third time and requested the bill. I asked why no-one would serve me. No reply. I asked the server who had pointedly gone to every table around me but not me, Why? She seemed terrified to respond and simply said that I 'wasn't in her section'. Seeking clarification I asked if a section meant a physical area within the restaurant? Yes, she said. I replied that I was in that physical area. She said, yes, but she was allocated to outside when I came in. Another server jumped in to say that there had possibly been some miscommunication amongst the staff.

Whilst this may have explained what had happened, no-one apologised, I was left unserved for 90 minutes and the staff did not show any concern or interest in the experience I had.

My assessment is that the staff are very young and do not fully understand the role they have. If I had been taken care of I would have ordered more courses, had more drinks, spent more money.

So if you're expecting basic service you are likely to get it here, provided you don't confuse the staff. More advanced service such as wine suggestions and encouragement to order extra sides and courses will not happen with the...

Had a booking here for dinner last night, we requested a glass of Champagne on arrival, we were served water with hardly a greeting then waited 15 minutes for the champagne. By that time we were ready to order our food, which we enjoyed. No one asked how our meal was going or if we would like more drinks (which we did) After finishing our food the waitress walked passed and suddenly remembered she hasn't done her job properly and came to see if we would like dessert, but by that time we were ready to leave and not spend another cent. The waitress didn't smile at all and obviously didn't want to be there. Was rather rude when we said no we didn't want anything else by "saying sorry its alot of questions as if we were thick!" Crockett was absolutely delicious! Booked here off a recommendation from a friend, and boy was she right! We were a table of 6 who all enjoyed our food. We shared the garlic bread which was interesting and yum! I shared the slow cooked lamb with duck fat potatoes, cauliflower and carrots and all of these items were incredible! I would go back just for this!! We then all got dessert, all of them looked divine, but the apple tarte Tatin was next level amazing!
