Fika — Restaurant in Christchurch

I recently visited this charming little one, located at Central Christchurch City, and it was an absolute delight! As a wanderer, I was looking for a cozy spot to enjoy a morning coffee and book reading, and Fika exceeded my expectations.

Upon entering, I was greeted by an Asian girl at the counter whose sunny smile and sweet voice instantly lifted my lack-of-coffee mood. I ordered a Flat White with one sugar and a Jalapeño Cheese Scone with butter. The coffee was fantastic—not as strong as I anticipated, but the taste and aroma were splendid. It was clear that the beans were fresh, and the milk was perfectly steamed.

The Jalapeño Cheese Scone was a highlight—crispy outside but warm and tender inside. It was perfect with a bit of butter and paired wonderfully with my coffee.

I spent a relaxing 45 minutes reading book at Fika, and the atmosphere was just perfect for a peaceful morning. I can't help but give this little gem in the heart of Christchurch a FIVE star for its excellent service, delicious offerings, and...

Goodness me! Ordered a almond iced latte and realized that the cold brew doesn't do the coffee justice! I need to come back and try it hot! It's definitely a unique blend I've never experienced before. And I'm now intrigued and need to try a hot coffee to get the full picture. Staff were lovely, I need to come back and see what my second thoughts are. Also, another awesome thing about this cafe is that alternative milks are free! I don't have any allergies, but people who do, definitely have what I call 'the allergy tax' which isn't very fair to me! I’m actually super disappointed to leave a review less than 5 stars, because I feel like staff are always kind and friendly and the coffee and treats are amazing! But their opening hours are not trustworthy and there’s been several times that I’ve made a specific trip because it says they’re open and they’re not! Especially when they don’t open on weekends, it’s so much more difficult to get them when open. Honestly I want to advise to go here but only if you’re passing by, it’s not worth a trip when there’s a large chance they’ll be closed (when their hours on google say...
