After visiting one of Christchurch's many museums, I became hungry, but with so many options in the city center area, I knew that I could easily spend an hour trying to decide. After brief deliberation, it was Sabry Souvlaki that came out on top. I had never partook in a souvlaki meal before, but after seeing the tantalizing pictures online, I knew that I was in for a treat. I ordered the large hot lamb souvlaki and it came out in vessel akin to getting an ice cream, amusing me to no end; but it also proved to be incredibly useful because it made it easier to eat with my hands, without worrying about making a mess. As for the flavor, holy cow (or lamb, in this case), it absolutely hit the spot. The meat was tender and savory, the wrap was soft, and the sauces complimented everything well (hot was not very spicy, but that might just be me). As for the restaurant, it can be a little crowded during the lunch rush, but the fact that people are wanting to eat here means that it's worth a visit. The staff was friendly and made the experience just that much better. I am now a souvlaki fan and I have Sabry to thank for it.

It's Friday night and to my delight, I found out Sabry's now had a store open on High Street. I headed out to grab some dinner for my daughter and me - and we were not disappointed. We ordered the meat on chips - chicken with sweet chilli sauce, garlic mayo, and hummus - along with a salad bowl packed full of fresh, flavorful ingredients, topped with hummus, tzatziki and what I believe was a pomegranate sauce. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and delicious. The Mediterranean-inspired flavors/ingredients on the menu are a real highlight for me. The service was warm and friendly, the prices reasonable, and the portions are generous. My daughter and I savoured every bite. Both the salad bowl and meat on chip were a hit. Highly recommend! We'll definitely be returning ☺️

Open new!! and is now the only original branch of this amazing franchise which is looked after by the owner... He makes daily fresh gourmet Egyptian sausage with a snap of spice flavour (highly recommend) the bread is fresh and tasty and if you open a nice conversation with the owner you might get suprised with some yummy Turkish delights for the kids. Also the chicken is very tasty too 👌

Undisputedly the best souvlaki store there is and ever will be. Let me tell you the grand tale of me getting a tasty, nutritious meal from the incredible Sabry Souvlaki for the first time. One cold, depressing day, I was walking around the Papanui area, searching for something to cure my starvation. I searched and searched, but alas, I could not find a food establishment worthy of my hard earned cash. I had almost given up hope until I saw the most beautiful thing I have ever layed my eyes upon. Sabry Souvlaki. A huge grin enveloped my face as I ran towards the entrance of the most prestigious establishment to exist. As I got closer I smelt something that could only be described as pure joy, nothing on earth had made me feel like that before. I burst through the door, only to be greeted by the enthusiastic, massive smile that spread across the face of a young boy manning the register. I was compelled to order straight away but was taken aback by the extensive, mouthwatering menu, there were just so many delicious options, I couldn't make up my mind. Eventually after hard thought I decided upon a chicken Souvlaki. The employees wasted no time getting my order ready and in a flash I had a gorgeous, warm, divine meal sitting Infront of me. Each bite was heavenly and I savoured every moment of it. After I finished I thanked the amazing employees and exited the store, never forgetting the incredible meal I consumed at Sabry Souvlaki. 11/10, not only did it fulfill my hunger but it created a fond memory that will...
