Dosa Plaza in Takapuna is a fantastic spot for anyone craving authentic Indian cuisine. Everything about this place is worth praising, and it’s highly recommended for a satisfying dining experience.
The food quality is exceptional, with generous portion sizes that truly deliver on flavor. The Punjabi Thali is a highlight – hearty, delicious, and more than enough for one person. The dosas are also a must-try, perfectly crispy and served with a variety of flavorful chutneys and sambar. The prices are reasonable and well-justified given the quality and portions.
The location is another big plus. Situated just a few steps away from the beach, it’s a perfect place to enjoy a great meal after a day out by the water.
While everything else is nearly perfect, the ambiance could be improved. The bright orange sofas stand out a bit too much and replacing them with more subtle colors could create a calmer and more inviting atmosphere.
Overall, with its delicious food, friendly staff, and prime location, Dosa Plaza is a must-visit in Takapuna. If you're looking for great Indian food and a memorable dining experience, this place should be...
Read moreWe visited this newer location Dosa Plaza (which earlier used to be on Dominion Road), for lunch on a weekend. The location is easily accessible. The South Indian food (Dosa, Idli etc.) we ordered came in time, but the North Indian thali took way longer (that's why the 4 star rating instead of 5 star). The staff was nice and helpful. Toilets are available, which are shared with other adjoining eateries. Prices are on the higher side, but is not a deal breaker, given the quality of food. Well...
Read moreEmbarrassed that I suggested trying Dosa Takapuna to my friends who are visiting from overseas. The extensive Indian/Chinese/Italian menu should have altered me to the fact that their main speciality is the microwave reheat button. All dishes were luke-warm, and either lacked flavour or were heavily salted. The accompanying chutneys were bland from what appeared to be defrosting. Service consisted of handing us a pencil and a slip of paper to write the code for our selections. Beautifully situated adjacent to the beach, but we saw none of this as the windows were...
