Extremely disappointed with service and food. The jazz band was so loud that you could not hear the waitress, who had to repeatedly ask questions regarding our order. We sat at a small table and could not hold a conversation across to each other without raising our voice. Rib-eye steak that was meant to be medium rare was presented with the thickest part of the steak well done and the thinnest part raw. Fries were soggy and not crisp. My salmon salad was a major letdown with the only enjoyable part being the salmon. The salad part had no presentation and looked like it came from the produce section from the supermarket the plate was drowned in too much salad. We ordered the mudcake and asked what was in it. We were told it was a chocolate cake. Hindsight we asked for ice cream and thank God we did. It arrived dry as cardboard and to horror we thought were sliver of nuts inside the cake. There is no mention of this on the menu. When we addressed our concerns to the waitress she assured to alert the manager of the seriousness for those with nut allergies. We watched this conversation from our table with the manager simply shrugging and waving his hand in a manner of who cares. In paying the bill we were charged $5 for a small minute scoop of ice cream. As a couple who regularly dine out we can assure that we will never come back. Downbeat is an appropriate name for this restaurant as it has no upbeat. Our meal was certainly not worth what...
Read moreThe food was really really good . I was going to have desert but after a starter and the dinner I couldn't eat another thing. There wasn't a jazz band playing when we went because I think it's was either the time of the night or the actual night that the jazz band was playing. The atmosphere was great. Good service . There were and combination of high bar table kind of seating to cosy 2 person table seating to big group table seating. But still Very cosy . I had a cocktail which was delicious. The barman clearly knew his stuff. I was going to order a cocktail jug but it would have been too big for one person .so I'll be going back for the cocktail jug and desert 🥴🥴🤭🤭🤭🤭. Parking in front or around the corner not a far walk at all. Really safe and tons of other eateries along the walk to and from your car so very safe and active with people eating along the way at other places. The beach is right opposite if you can handle going for a walk on a full stomach. So for a decent size cocktail ....A milkshake and beer , a starter and delicious, filling , tasty , well cooked mains..... for two adults it was just on $100. If we had gone when the band was playing , I could have added free entertainment into that $100 as well. ...
Read moreTo start, the staff were lovely, but too busy. When first of group arrived, drinks were ordered although After half an hour without service after second half of group arrived, went to bar to order drink, were dismissed and told couldn't order at bar, server would come to table. Server came by about 15 min later, was unable to take orders because was taking food orders. There was no toilet paper or hand soap in toilets, staff were made aware twice from our table, still had not been restocked. Disabled toilet was blocked, and third stall locked. Wait times are long. Octopus was extremely spicy, not what you would anticipate when only hot ingredient is Chipotle, tasted like a tablespoon of cayenne pepper had been used but they did charge half price as could not finish the second half. "Tiger" prawns are not black tiger prawns, rather look to be vannamei 41/50s (small, light pink in colour and texture is softer) . garlic butter was amazingly good but the garlic bread really disappointing, could not taste any garlic. Redeeming was the lighthouse drink, got three jugs to share amongst whole...
