Ambassador's Al Fresco Restaurant — Restaurant in Malay

It's a nice ambiance, light jazz, comfy chairs overlooking the beach. The prices are hefty (dishes, even sandwiches start from 600-700, even a piece of cake starts from 350). The service is rather slow. The table service is just not great, waiters seem to work on autopilot. I had some food, it took rather a long time to arrive. They forgot to give me cutlery to eat it with. Waiter disappeared, there was no one in sight for a while, I had to have a bit of walk around to get knife and forks. By the time I got the food, my coffee got cold - I got served coffee first. The lady at the bar heated it up for me (another walk and beg). This was a bit strange, if I were them, I would have just made a fresh capucchino again - I wouldn't heat up the old! The waiter had collected the sugar from the tables earlier on, so I had another walk and ask for sugar. It's all no big deal, but it feels that it's such a posh and pricy place - these mistakes shouldn't happen when it comes to service. A horrible experience out-and-out. Judging on the prices this is supposed to be an upscale restaurant. If it wasn't for my friend I was there with, I would have left after the first 30 minutes with neither beverages nor food. After being seated the waitresses constantly ignored us, even when walking just past. I cannot believe how it is possible to gather so many totally inept service personnel. I needed to beg them for every single drink whatsoever and the process of ordering is a real hassle due to their lacking English skills and common sense. Overpriced, food is below average. We were the only customers in the restaurant and service was soo slow and they forgot the fries I ordered with the fish. I asked if the juice had sugar the lady said she would check and never came back. The Carrot juice was horrible after we tried it so we returned it but they tried to charge us for it anyway saying we drank it when had a few sips at most. I had to ask them to remove this which they declined to do initially. I asked to remove the service charge because we didn’t get good service and we were told it’s not possible.
