My hubby, eldest sister and I decided to eat from Tapa King at the Manila International Airport T3 before departure. We odered 1 Royal Meal and 2 Breakfast Specials. First thing we noticed, it's served cold, only eggs are freshly cooked, fried rice is cold so is tapa. The meat was "maputla", nothing like what we had before in a restaurant outside airport and my ate found a strand of long hair in fried rice 🫣😬. She took her plate back to them. But we don't know if the hair strand was only removed or if it's a new serving 🤔.But my sister decided not to eat anymore. An hour after eating, my husband and I started having tummy problems. Went to the toilet 2x in less than 30 minutes. Fortunately, our nephew brought Gastro stop tablets with him during our travel. Even, when we were on the plane my husband still went to the toilet. It was a very uncomfortable long flight we were in. As soon we arrived in Sydney we went straight to the toilet to do a number. I work in a laboratory, so I would know if it's an ordinary diarrhoea or something more sinister. From our symptoms- stomach cramps, cold and clammy hands, stool consistencies- watery with mucus and the awful fishy smell. I knew we hit the jackpot. All the food handlers MUST be mindful on how they handle food. They serve it to non-suspecting people who only wants to eat at the very least, properly cooked food and handled safely. Hygiene and proper hand wash is a protocol on every food handling and every after going to the toilet. Now we're still suffering and started taking Metronidazole for...
Read moreI had lunch here before an afternoon flight. I had gone to the Kenny Rogers two doors down on my previous flight. It has been years since I ate at a Tapa King so this was a good opportunity to try their food again.
I had their Classic Tapa King (P220.00). Price is neither cheap nor expensive.
Certainly, I've had better tapa in my life but this wasn't that terrible. Serving size is typical for local restaurants. Tapa was tender but lacking in flavor. The rice was also unexemplary and without any strong garlic flavor. Fried egg is typical. I prefer crispy fried eggs but you don't really get that from restaurants.
Something to note is that when I ate here only the Classic was available from their tapa dishes.
Service was pretty quick and the place seemed clean enough.
I will try other restaurants when I next visit...

First thing we noticed, it's served cold, only eggs are freshly cooked, fried rice is cold so is tapa. The meat "Tapa" is literally like 8 small pieces and it so maputla like it just came out from the freezer and they just heat it up really quick to serve , 🫣😬 but still cold.
The reviews are mostly negative and all highlight the same issue.
I think somebody should call the FDA to check their store and ensure the safety of the customers.
