As a portuguese person, this is inauthentic and bad quality food. This restaurant, for sure, doesn't serve typical portuguese food. It is a trap for tourists. That's why there are so many nice reviews here because people don't know what portuguese food is supposed to taste like. The bread was stale and inedible, and olives were dry and tasteless, yet we paid €7 for the covert, which was not even fresh. The potatoes in the fish cataplana didn't taste fresh. The fish didn't taste fresh either. we left most of our food on the plate. We told Joeseph my daughter was allergic to gluten before ordering the food, and he assured us which dishes were safe, but he served us a "fish soup" with pasta (which traditionally is not even supposed to have pasta in fish soup). Neither did the menu mention the pasta in the soup. Luckily, my daughter stirred the soup before eating. Joseph is charming and friendly it is his job to call the clients to eat in the restaurant and pretend it's all good, but the food and price are a trap for tourists . We ate in another restaurant that they didn't need to have anybody to call clients because the food was good. In fact, we had to queue to go in. So be aware of what proper Portuguese restaurants are and what it is touristic restaurants . We were trapped, and I am...

Read moreLooking for a restaurant in the busy city of Lagos my boyfriend and I ended up at M Grill restaurante. I ordered the piri piri chicken, because I really wanted to try this Portuguese dish, but I have to be honest: I was disappointed when my plate with chicken arrived. I found the chicken dry and not spicy or flavorful at all. Thing is, I can't compare, because this was my first time eating piri piri chicken, so perhaps I just am not that big of a fan? Luckily the Alentejan soup I had as a starter was ok, albeit very very garlic heavy.
Service was friendly and our food came very quickly. The atmosphere in the restaurant was laid back and...
