I rarely write a negative review for restaurant, but on this occasion I had to, as the service I received was the worst I ever experienced, especially, I spent over €100 on my birthday meal with my partner.
We ordered a fish platter, kings prawns, chips and a few drinks for our evening meal. The table service was horrible, the chips we ordered arrived 15 minutes after we received all the main courses, which we ordered it along with the main course.
Despite we ordered in advance it took further 10 minutes for the waiters to bring over ketchup and mayonnaise, which they gave us mustard instead of mayonnaise.
The restaurant wasn’t busy at all, there were only 8 customers included us in total and they had 4 waiters and an extra 2 in the service area.
We later noticed one of the squid from the fish platter went bad, as it had a bad smell and taste weir and off. So we kindly told one of the waiter when we finished our food. Not long after one of the older waiter came over to our table aggressively and placed a raw squid in our face and insisted their squid is fresh. We kindly told him to try the one we had on our plate, then he looked at us aggressively and walked away.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend anyone to eat in this restaurant as I do not wish anyone to...
Read moreUnbelievably aggressive. Worst experience in 7 weeks of eating out 2-3 times per day. They had one priority. Get walking traffic into chairs. We repeatedly watched one large guy with a 7 foot wing span, using aggressive body language, actually ’block people’s way’ and usher them into chairs and tables at the cafe.
When we were served by a waiter, he was aggressive and his eyes kept scanning for potential new clients. He literally left us mid sentence to attend someone who paused to look at their display menu.
He came back and snatched one of the two types of menus from my hands to take to a potential customer.
After 5 mins I had to ask another waiter to have the menu. I should have left.
We felt bullied into having things we actually didn’t want. I felt powerless to choose other options because the waiter shut down the conversation by saying it’s good, it’s good. He turned his back on me, walked off and ordered the item I had not decided upon yet.
They were all obviously trained the same way, except for a nice young female waitress. We observed her being scolded in a nasty way, because she was not sure of an order. They automatically applied an extra 10% to my...
Read moreThe food was OK. The sardines were very good, and the cod was ok, but way too much onion and oil. We then also had the Monk fish and shrimp seafood rice. It was too salty, and the taste was odd. You could tell they don’t cook the fish inside the rice. They keep a pot of rice ready, and then just throw in whatever you order with the rice. To be honest, the base of the rice tasted like Lipton soup mix. The sangria was OK, but there is better. Was disappointed that all the other tables got bread and olive oil and we did not. The waiter was very nice, and helpful. His service was good for the most part. However, when the bill was brought he made it clear the bill did not include a tip, and he stood there and waited and watched for you to put a tip on the credit card transaction. So weird and uncomfortable. There’s lots of good food in Lisbon, and some great restaurants, with really fair pricing. I think this restaurant is a little expensive for what you get, when you have so many other options. Overall, the meal was OK. The service was good, but the tip thing was uncomfortable. Certainly they have room for...
