A hidden GEM is what I will call the Crossroad10 Cafe in Baixa-Chiado. This small beautiful romantic cafe is nestled in the heart of Chiado, practically steps away from the Chido metro station and tram 28E. You have a full opening of the cafe windows to the street from your table which was very refreshing in the warm weather and what you would want from a cafe in Europe. Now, the food is impeccable. After the first experience of breakfast (I had mushroom omelette and my wife herb omelette), it was so delicious and in large amounts that we ended up going for lunch and dinner for several dishes on subsequent days during our vacation. Normally tourists go to a restaurant once and want to try different places, but this place was so good that we ended up going there 3 times. I would highly recommend anything from this place as you can't go wrong. We had Pad Thai, Coconut noodle soup, Bao with chicken, Chicken wings etc all in fusion flavors and not something regular from other places. Jose Camacho, the chef, was extremely accommodating and was very cordial with us. His background includes many country's food experiences which allow him to create authentic and fusion food with the twist of the flavor from his experiences. When he was not busy in the kitchen, he would tend to each customer personally which is a very unique service he was providing to his customers. Anyone going to Lisbon must have an agenda to experience Jose Camacho cooking at Crossroad Cafe Address: Rua do Crucifixo 10, Baixa-Chiado 1100-183 Lisbon, Portugal
We loved every moment....
Please avoid this place, they treat the locals like dogs, in the middle of the afternoon they refuse to let portuguese people sit next to the window, with the justification that it is only for tourists, because a lot of tourists will come. This has happenned twice already, to me and to people close to me, I honestly don't know why I bothered coming. If you value respect and honesty don't come here, honestly it's not that good either. I'll give you an example. My mother tried getting a table by the window and she couldn't because it was for "tourists", it could even be acceptable if they gave the excuse that the table was for four people and my mom was just one, but guess what! In the other four chaired table, there was a tourist couple! They do it blatantly without any shame, the only time I dined there (next to the wall of course) the chef kept looking at me in a judging manner, awful vibe. With all honesty, the food isn't...
Read moreOk I go again this time and adding to comment lsst time, I want to highlight they r serving the soup noodles with a little apron to avoid any potential of staining on your clothes! That’s so thoughtful and super relevant! It’s detail that count and I want to say it’s better than a hotel restaurant I went just 2 days ago. Anyone like Asian food should make a visit there. They open all thru the afternoon and it’s big plus for people shop until hungry to find something to eat. Cheers
I seldom rate any place with 5 stars but this little shop really is top. The Asian food menu there is of a few choices but all with the most refreshing favor plus some great choices of appetizer. The food is very authentic Asian favor, almost unfound in Lisbon, especially center center! We love both soup noodles we had (veggie favor and Thai noodle soup). The pumpkin cheesecake is a surprise although not Asian favor. The topping is something like creme brûlée and the favor add up amazing. Their daily special tea was rosemary tea and the fragrance was so good! Try their special I’d say. The owner had lived in Macau that’s why he caught the Asian food essences perfectly! Simple yet authentic. The little shop is tiny yet nice space for all tables. Very comfortable and feel good to be there. If u like Asian noodles, u have to...
