Really sad to be writing this review as I went to the barcelona branch every day while on my 4 day stay there. I was super excited to visit the Lisbon Chiado store for dinner tonight and ordered the Honest Poke - I have attached a photo of what is advertised on the menu. I was quite confused when my bowl arrived and it was mainly brown as I was expecting it to be green with fruit. I gave it a go and it was totally different to what I had been expecting, the dish was majority coconut flakes and a lot of ingredients were missing from what was advertised; edamame, almonds, pickled onion, basil & mint (I received spring onion though that was not advertised) and the spicy mayo sauce. There was fruit but it is cut up into such tiny pieces it’s hard to tell. I can’t lie I was super disappointed and shocked as this did not seem right. I am barely one to make a complaint but I had only eaten a bit of it so I went and told the staff that I was disappointed and that I think that the product is falsely advertised. I was met with 4 staff members being incredibly rude to me and not taking the time to listen to what I was saying. I believed I handled the situation in quite a polite manner as I hate to make a scene but their disapproving attitude was honestly the cherry on top to making this a super unenjoyable experience. I told them I had many ingredients missing and they did not seem to believe me- mind you they had not even come to look at my meal. I said it was 90% just coconut flakes which one responded we don’t put coconut in it, when I then pointed at all the coconut flakes in the kitchen he was like ‘oh yeah’. I was offered no compensation at all which really shocked me, no refund or a replacement meal just a shrug from the chef. Not to mention the fries were not nearly as good as they were in Barcelona, these tasted old like they had been sitting at the bottom of the fry pan all day. Will not be returning which really sucks as I have had great meals other times but this was a massive let down.
update: I’m not sure what was actually in our food last night as my friend and I both got incredibly sick as soon as we came back to our hotel. She ordered the mediterranean bowl and we shared the sweet potato fries which we both had eaten many times while we were in barcelona and loved so this was super strange but we felt so ill as soon as we got home last night and were taking turns throwing up in the bathroom. I am not usually sensitive to food nor throw up often but I genuinely have never thrown up so much in my life. Maybe an issue with the rice? We both had different meals but this was the only place we both had food from. Really upset as I loved honest greens but now have had the worst...
Read moreThis place was super healthy and solid overall. It reminded me of something you’d find in LA, and I’m honestly surprised it hasn’t opened there yet.
Everyone was talking about how life-changing it was, so my expectations were high. The food was clean and fresh, but at the end of the day it was just salmon, salad, and vegetables. Still really good, just not mind-blowing. The sweet potato fries were also good but again nothing crazy. The chocolate banana cake was a nice touch. I liked it as someone who doesn't like super sweet desserts but my sister hated it because it was pretty bland.
I also have to add that you order in the front and then the food comes to you after that. But ordering was pretty difficult in english, we struggled communicating with the cashier. I think it was getting a little frustrating, but we figured it out at the end. I recommend knowing exactly what you want before you go to order if you do not speak Portuguese.
If I were studying abroad in Lisbon, I’d probably come here all the time. Great spot for...
Read moreLocation, ambiance and food was great. Though our experience here wasn’t really fantastic. First, the receptionist wasn’t really that welcoming. She handed us the menu and said “This is how it works here” then explained that we order first and pay before we can be given a table. However, my friend insisted we sit first comfortably before we order and we did. Second, we were served with an overcooked sweet potato so we were only able to consume 1/3 of it and then we complained to a guy server who never really addressed our concern (prolly language barrier) but totally ignored us. After 10 minutes, we complained again this time with a server named Anna Maria and she had our sweet potato replaced quickly and we finally were able to enjoy it this time. Kudos to her great service. Overall, loved the food and the coziness of the resto, it was clean...
