Do not stay here! There is no customer service for issues, we had no hot water our entire stay! Between four people, we booked two rooms at the GS Chiado Boutique Studios & Suites for two nights (our first two nights in Lisbon). While the building and rooms were nice the building had no hot water for our entire stay. One person showered our first night there and found that the water was lukewarm. The initial thought was that this is an old building and the hot water heater couldn’t keep up. When the rest of us tried to shower the next morning, it was freezing cold. We messaged management and both bookings were sent the same copy and pasted email stating that there was an issue and that there was not hot water in the building. They clearly knew that this was an issue and said nothing and then did nothing to remedy the situation. We were hopeful that they were working on the situation and that we would have hot water by the next morning. Day two there was still no hot water. This was our first stop after a full day of travel (after a 9-hour flight and full day in the city, a shower is needed) and had we known in advance, we would have made other arrangements. The management clearly knew and did not communicate the issue or offer any options. After check-out we emailed several times asking for a partial refund and first received an email apologizing and asking us to let us know if there was anything they could do to right the situation. When we responded that a partial refund would right the situation, we received no further communication, and all other emails were ignored. Read moreWe stayed in a Studio Standard (I believe) for over a week recently and it was incredible. Location couldn't have been better; it's a short walk to pretty much everything including the train/subway if you need to go to other cities. Hotel staff were very kind and helpful. The room was clean and spacious - it also had a small kitchenette with a fridge that we used for preparing breakfast every day.
We also had a situation where we left the key card in the room and went out to a bar until 1am in the morning. When we came back we were locked out and had to call for customer support. It only took 15 minutes (at 1am) for a response and there was already a very well thought out process for a lost room key. The staff walked us through this process on WhatsApp and we got into our room shortly after - I was very satisfied with the level of service.
Pros: Excellent location Incredible service - room is cleaned every day and attention to little details is very high Room is large and inclusive; compared to some other hotels our studio apartment gave us everything we needed to wind down after a long day (TV with Netflix, tea, kitchenette, large bathroom)
Con: Although we knew this prior to booking, the only con I can think of is that there is no elevator and we need to walk up a lot of stairs. This wasn't a big deal cause we got to get our exercise in.
Overall I would definitely come back here - it's not just a nice hotel, it's a very well thought out user experience and I believe this attention to UX is what makes businesses...
