"Lost Lisbon" is truly a "lost". It was not the beautiful image shown and described in its website advertisement:
The advertisement shows rooms and furnishings bright, refreshing, and pleasant. These were false advertisements. The rooms are dark, unpleasant, smelly, cheap, incredibly old, and the furnishings might have been collected from old age, back perhaps a hundred years ago. Lisbon can be extremely hot. There are NO Air Conditioning in this facility. The only fan in the room was a fixed direction, floor air circulator (not a real fan), which blew uncomfortable strong air. With the windows opened, the street noise came pouring in, and we were sweating profusely. Those who need an accommodation in Lisbon, it is best to find a hotel with Air Conditioning. The service was poor, and the manager was cunning and not a kind person. We entered the facility in the afternoon, tried it out the best we could; but we could not tolerate staying in this place. We wanted to move out. The manager would not help us and stated that he did not know how to cancel the room and he would keep our deposit of $964 without a refund, should we move to another hotel. He also refused to contact hotels.com operator to resolve this situation. He said he was busy and we must wait for his return within two hours. But we waited for almost five hours before his return. We told him we must move out of this facility because the room was too hot. We are seniors and he would be responsible for our health if we became sick due to heat stroke. We were finally able to move out in the middle of the night and received a refund from hotels.com in exchange for a good hotel. This place has no elevator (the elevator was behind old sofas and not operable) and the steps were high and dangerous. The manager refused to help us (I am a senior with a disability) to move our luggage. When we first stepped into this place, it was dark and scary, we felt like we were entering hell. This place was so dimly lit and scary that it took us multiple times, up and down the steps repeatedly, to find the room. The room was hidden in a corner, behind a tiny door, with a small name plate not observable. For a long time, we thought we were forever "Lost" in the "Lost Lisbon". It was a disaster for us. The manager was greedy and not a good person and I would not recommend this place. We agree with the bad scores given by other reviewers who told similar and true stories about this place. Why take a risk with such a place located in a noisy area without air conidtioning. There are plenty new hotels up north in Lisbon where the rooms have air conditioning, quiet, service excellent, very comfortbale, with price better than this Lost one, and with subways right across from them. The subways take your to everywhere in town...

Read moreWhat an absolute gem this guest house turned out to be. The location was spot-on—right in the heart of Lisbon, in a safe and central area with easy access to all the key sights. The building itself was full of character: historic, welcoming, and beautifully maintained, with a cosy shared lounge that felt instantly inviting.||We knew our room didn’t have an en suite, but the private bathroom just across the hall was excellent—well-equipped, spotless, and never gave us any trouble. The kitchen and breakfast setup were outstanding. A large communal table made it easy to chat with fellow travellers, and the breakfast spread was genuinely impressive: a generous bowl of fresh fruit, homemade cake, crusty bread, eggs, ham, cheese, yoghurts—it had everything you could want to start the day right.||There was a bit of noise from the wine bars and restaurants below, especially after midnight, but nothing a pair of earplugs couldn’t fix. Oddly enough, Friday night was quieter than expected!||All in all, a fantastic find and a place I’d absolutely recommend. Thank you for a...
