Awful. They have food for good prices and drinks too. However we were about to enter and the waiter outside (the annoying one that is trying to get everyone to buy) went straight up to the white people passing by and ignored us for a while. We gave him a few minutes and he just pretended we (Latin American) weren't there just to get a few euro bucks from the foreigners. Oh well, they weren't even interested and he lost clients that wanted to have a full night of drinks just because of him being racist (ironic since he isn't white too) and profiling us as having less money. We decided to leave since it was blatantly obvious he didn't want to even look at us until the white people left (let's see if I can get some euros!!!) and that's when he turned to look at us and finally acknowledged us in a last pathetic attempt to sell something. Not only does it look like a clear tourist trap (awful non traditional food) but the clear profiling and racism make us not even want to approach.
Edit: the owner's response just show he justifies being racist and even calling costumers inferior. He'd rather deny it, rather than correct his staff and apologize, even when he wasn't there at all. He just creates excuses. His restaurant is exactly the one I'm referring to and you can see in various of my reviews I have a history of leaving reviews and mostly good. However when there's a restaurant like this, full of racism I would point it out. Funny enough, not even an apology was made. Disappointing to have this in a country so full of diversity as Portugal. Definitely don't visit if you don't want to...
Read moreCame in for late night dinner and loved the place. To start, the service was exceptionally good and they didn't care it was closing time, they kept taking the best possible care.
We ordered the Rice with Monk fish which was outstanding, for entries a couple of fish soups and chorizo,
Every dish was well prepared and nicely seasoned, not hyper salty or too strongly seasoned but well balanced and refined.
We also ordered 1/2 a jar of Vino verde, sparkling water, bread, sardine's pate, olives, everything!
The price was very cheap. We've been traveling north and south and a similar meal costed us 50-70% more even in small towns.
I was reading some reviews complaining about hidden costs/cheating while finding the place to add my review. This is not right, every restaurant offers bread and entries which are listed on the menu. You're free to accept or refuse them.
If you accept the entries you're charged around 50 cents for bread, 1.5 for olives, etc. You get good quality produce for a very small price.
Ignore ridiculous low ratings because people don't understand the portuguese ways or had a silly problem with payment. When it comes to food, price and service this place check...
Read moreOrder a gilled cod fish recommended by the manger. He said it is very good. Food took forever to come out come. Wife took a bit of the recommended cod fish. It was over cooked and taste like eating a paper. Complain to one of the waiter with black shirt and he said the cod fish is taste like that. Salty and taste like paper. We did eat cod fish a lot in the restaurant and never tast like that. The fish must not fresh and they try to use a lot of salt to cover it. We complain to the manager, he said he will take a look at it. Wait for fifteen minutes and got no response from the manage. We left the overcooked fishing untouched. We lost our patient after waiting for another half-hour and plan to leave. We want our checks and the manager pretend nothing happen giving us the check after 15 minutes. Very disappointed to their service, wait time and food quality. Will not cone back and do not recommend to anyone. They may know we are tourist and take advantage us. Bad busines and beware do not be a...
