This neighborhood gem is well worth a visit, especially if you’re going to the Gulbenkian Museum, which is a stone’s throw away. The food is a mixture of Italian and portuguese dishes, and it consistently excellent; we’ve eaten there at least 15 times and keep going back. Some of the standout dishes are the “black rice”, which is made with squid ink, the fish dishes, and of course the bacalhau à bras (a traditional Portuguese codfish). The pastas are house-made and delicious. My personal favorite is the lamb shank, if you’re lucky enough to be there when the lamb is in season, since the owner (João) will only buy it from a couple of suppliers whose quality he trusts. João and his wife are friendly and attentive, and always happy to explain the history and the cooking methods of their dishes. Five stars...

Saw this restaurant while staying in Lisbon and decided to try it one night. We got there fairly early, 7:15pm, and were the first people to order. Waitstaff seemed a bit chaotic for some reason, and we cycled through 3 different people waiting on us at the beginning - Not a deal breaker as we ordered wine and some main dishes which got to us in a timely manner. Bottle of white wine was typical and not too pricey. Shrimp&pumpkin risotto was truly the best rice dish I have ever tasted, and probably my #1 dish I had on my Portugal vacation. Very flavorful and packed with shrimp. My wife ordered mushroom risotto, which was good as well. I would go recommend trying their risotto if you are in Lisbon, especially the shrimp! 5...

TLDR; Some of the dishes are very good, some are really not. Service is slow. The place has good atmosphere. People you're with will make the difference in the experience.

Smiling staff that you can see are trying to provide good service with a smile. Tuna over rice was a really good dish.

Risotto with pumpkin (no shrimp as allergic to sea food) - very salty and not too much flavour.

Pasta with spinach and mushrooms didnt have mushrooms but truffle oil that just didnt work for the two young ladies with us Plus side - Patron wanted to make a new pasta for them but they didnt want to.

Summary - restaurant has potential and I think service was slow because they are training new staff... I would have...

It is a central cosy and light decorated restaurant with open kitchen noises and happy background music, created for the local office workers’ canteen with a very limited lunch menu at a fair price, so even if you book a table and state it, as an “unknown of the house” they will not ask for a name but just show you to the worst table available; this attitude continues throughout the visit, leaving plates, etc. With a couvert and sparkling water, we chose one of the two lunch options, the fish filet with vegetables, and the traditional beans which was quick with a generous and very tasty serving. With coffees it was €25 in total only, which is an excellent price/value relation downtown Lisbon.

We were a party of three, and each of us ordered a risotto for EUR 15 per person, for which you normally receive a decent size dish even in this part of Lisbon. But here the portion sizes were ridiculously small. And this not a fancy, gourmet restaurant, but a simple Italian eatery. At one point, they also realized that they went a bit too far with the portion reduction because the waitress appeared with an extra plate of risotto to share acknowledging the original portions were small. While it mitigated my disappointment to some extent, it would have been better to get our money's worth in the first place.

Went for a quick dinner since the restaurant was near my hotel. Asked the waitress for some recommendations and based on those, ordered the cod loin from the oven with potatoes and spinach. The fish was perfectly seasoned and cooked, the potatoes were skin on with the blanched spinach on top with roasted garlic. Would definitively recommend. I ordered creme brulee for dessert but was disappointed - jiggly and too light. Needs to be more creamy. I heard that the pastas and risottos are also good here, so might give it a try in the upcoming days.
