Scoop n Dough is a haven for vegan sweet enthusiasts in Lisbon. Their vegan donuts are a revelation, and even though it seems unbelievable, they truly are vegan! If you're a sweet-toothed vegan, this place is an absolute must-visit. Every visit to Lisbon necessitates at least one stop at Scoop n Dough for me. The lure of their delectable vegan donuts is irresistible. The moment you step in, the friendly and welcoming staff make you feel right at home. It's not just about the delicious treats; the warm atmosphere enhances the overall experience. The donuts themselves are a marvel. From the first bite, you're met with a burst of flavors that defy the absence of traditional ingredients. The texture is perfectly balanced, fluffy yet substantial. The variety of flavors they offer is impressive, catering to a range of tastes. Whether you're a fan of classic flavors or more adventurous combinations, there's something for everyone. Being able to enjoy vegan donuts that are on par with, or even exceed, their non-vegan counterparts is a dream come true. Scoop n Dough has accomplished what many might consider impossible. The fact that these delightful treats are vegan doesn't detract from their quality; it adds to their allure, making them a guilt-free pleasure. If you're in Lisbon and have a penchant for delicious donuts, vegan or not, Scoop n Dough is a destination you can't afford to miss. It's more than just a place to satisfy your sweet cravings; it's a place that leaves you with a smile, a satisfied palate, and a newfound appreciation for the possibilities of vegan indulgence.

Dropping two stars because I was underwhelmed. I chose 3 doughnuts... crème brûlée, panna cotta and banoffee pie. The doughnuts themselves were yummy, fluffy, good dough. But the rest was not great... they were pretty but not so yummy. The crème brûlée hard sugar tasted totally burnt and the custard filling was flavourless. The banoffee filling made the doughnut really soggy but it was the nicest one. The panna cotta, there was just waaaay too much of it and it just tasted like slightly sweet silken tofu, if you like that then cool but personally I did not like it. I got 3 flavours of ice cream... brownie cookie dough, black sesame, Madagascan vanilla. The consistency of the ice cream was just okay... I had higher expectations since it was expensive. I’m not giving up on this place though, supporting vegan business is very important to me. I’m gonna try something different next time :) • *edit... okay so I tried every donut they have lol... and: Original glazed, lemon poppyseed and maple bacon are AMAZING... my favourite is lemon poppyseed. So so good. The dough is perfect, the ratio of toppings, the texture, everything. So personally I think the more simple donuts here are the best :) the fancier ones are trying a little too hard without the flavours to back them up. The chocolate tart one is unbelievable if you’re a huge chocolate lover, it’s so decadent and totally chocolatey... I can eat a lot but I would recommend sharing this particular one, it’s really rich! But super tasty

I always want to support vegan businesses because it is hard to find them and I appreciate the hard work they are doing. I am giving only 3 stars because the donuts were average. I don't want to compare them but in Germany (Berlin) we have Bramiballs donuts which are also handmade, not that expensive and super delicious while not being too sweet. So that you understand that this was what I expected from scoop and dough too. The girls in the service were super nice and we had a good talk about vegan restaurants in the area. The Ice cream we ordered was very delicious (raspberry cheese cake, pistachio and salted caramel with the caramel sauce). We wanted to buy donuts for the next day of our trip. The donuts were cooled in our fridge in the van but despite that the raspberries were bad when we wanted to eat them the next day. I think this may be something that they have no control over but it made eating the other donuts kind of weird. Overall if you want great vegan Ice cream go for it but I wouldn't order donuts again because of my experience.

Serious Lack of Transparency Regarding Ingredients

I asked for the full list of ingredients for the icecream I wanted to buy, knowing that ice creams can contain sugars, additives, emulsifiers, and preservatives. Vegan does not automatically mean healthy.

Despite my reasonable request, the staff let me know that the management refused to provide this information. This lack of transparency represents a serious breach of customer trust. Any establishment producing genuinely high-quality gelato should be proud to disclose what goes into their products, as other vegan gelaterias do.

That said, I want to highlight that the staff, Nuno and Ezechiel, were extremely kind, welcoming, and professional, and they sincerely apologized for not being able to assist me.

For anyone like me who is careful about what they eat or may have potential allergies, buying here means doing so completely in the dark. Truly disappointing and unprofessional.

Ps.

“According to EU Regulation 1169/2011, as implemented in Portugal by Decreto-Lei n.º 26/2016, customers are entitled to clear and complete information on the full list of ingredients for non-prepacked foods (such as ice cream sold at the counter), not just allergen details. Article 2(2)(a) of the Decreto-Lei explicitly requires disclosure of all ingredients that may cause allergies or intolerances, even if they are no longer obviously present in the final product. Providing only allergen information is therefore not sufficient under Portuguese law.”

EU Regulation 1169/2011 sets the general requirement across EU countries for food information, including allergens—but does not specify exactly how to disclose full ingredient lists for non-prepacked foods.

Decreto-Lei n.º 26/2016 fills in those details for Portugal. It not only enforces the EU rules but also defines that, for foods sold loose, the operator must indicate all ingredients capable of causing allergies or intolerances, even in...

My partner went in to buy a few of their vegan donuts as well as try some ice cream which are very nice.

Unfortunately the experience was ruined by their very chaotic queuing system, poorly designed box and unsympathetic attitude from the staff.

They allow multiple people into the store sometimes with them getting too close as well as a massive queue by the door. Which makes it hard to get in to grab napkins.

This also causes you to feel rushed and so my partner felt under pressure to quickly pick everything up. Especially as they were starting at her and being impatient.

Unfortunately the box is not a very good design and has no locking mechanism built into it so it opened as she did this and they all fell out. So she didn’t drop them but rather the box failed to keep them safe.

I understand they want to make as many sales to make money during a pandemic but they should try to serve each customer at a time and make sure they have safely got their stuff without rushing to the next customer

They really ought to consider to take orders from the doorway to reduce issue of too many people inside.

And finally they need to design the box to secure it better as it’s was ultimately the poor design of this which led to the doughnuts to fall out. This box is not fit for purpose, no other doughnut shop have boxes that open this easily.

And whilst this happened staff didn’t attempt to warn or indicate this is an issue either.

unfortunately they were unable to compensate us for this as they had run out instead asking if we wanted to pick up and keep the doughnuts off the floor where people had been walking and made my partner feel bad by having a not very unsympathetic attitude.

A bad experience for us and we won’t be...
