What a gem in town!! I love tapas in general but this place has such a vibe and happy, inviting atmosphere on top of the great dishes. We went there twice in our Lisbon trip, just because there were so many dishes we wanted to try!

The charming owner roams around the dining table and hangs out with passers by (likely locals) all the time. The kitchen is visible from the dining area, and my wife, facing that way, noticed that the cooks are always smiling - good sign of job satisfaction. The servers are super-friendly (in a genuine way) and take time in explaining dishes. It is a tourist-heavy spot (and many tourists go there) but enough locals still go there (many of them seem to be seated on the loft area above) and the place keeps its intrinsic charm. Pretty amazing.

Surprisingly, the restaurant must have been quite successful, so it apparently expanded to adjacent spaces, on both sides of the original restaurant. The food comes from the same kitchen, but if you could, I'd recommend getting a table at the original spot to soak in the full vibe (it's very crammed and vibrant, with the owner likely hanging out there, so you'd know right away which spot is the original :-)

Beware that the main dishes are pretty big. It was just two of us lightweights, so we much more enjoyed getting a bunch of small tapas plates to enjoy the variety (vs. main dishes). And tiny cups of Ginja (local liquor) at the end is a...

I decided to book this restaurant as it was my friend’s recommendation. It turned out that my first dinner in Lisbon was quite a disappointment. They said that my seats in that restaurant was not ready as other guests were using them and took us to another side of the restaurant, where there was nobody when we came in. They could have offered us to wait inside somewhere or something. They said that they’ll have same menu, but the atmosphere was completely different.

Their food does not deserve their reputation…please do NOT order the fried sardines, it was really not yummy as it was a frozen food or food from fastfood store. The codfish with potatoes was super light flavored (I usually enjoy light flavors compared to others, but still it was quite light even for me). Mushroom risotto was thankfully yummy, so we were able to survive the night.

What was disturbing during the night was the beep sound to inform that the food is ready. It would be much better if the staff can use the earphone or something so it does not bother customers.

At least the space we had was small, so it was easy to get the staff’s attention and you do not have to wait forever until you get your food or make payments. The staff who welcomed us in the other side of the restaurant still did his job, so that is why it’s two stars instead of one.

Hopefully they’ll consider about checking their flows and menu’s in the...

Attention ! no go Poor hygiene.. its SIMPLY the hype - branding ", is this a case of too much arrogance on the part of an employee (a young guy) who is working in the balcone? and the highine is not good. I'm not saying this because of the customer service, Very awful! we went their our friends recommend us. but sorry guys this place have to avoid because of hygiene. As a afternoon restaurant was not so busy. We order a food when food came as a same time we saw on the wall crocach! i spoke with server lady she was very norvce she try to resolve but impossible! very offencive hygiene issue. We went to toilet another digister very dirty and more crocach....!!! Now we desided have to left or complain? after a asked to the lady to look your kitchen she says yes and when i look inside the balcony one boy doing something with very massy, surface very dirty. He cut the cheese with dirty dishes as a same place! very bad and very danger with cross-contamination very low cleaning stape. and the kitchen also was not well organize. We are very upset about this situation we want to go as soon as possible server lady excuse and says payment cancel. But we haven't our meal but payment nat a big dil around 30euros. have to improve very well cleaning as a same way have to do good employ to do as a team work. We didn't fell the help each other properly. Never back again!...

Il locale è molto piccolo quindi consiglio prenotazione. Il cibo è fantastico, consigliamo le sardine fritte di antipasto, il polpo alla Lagareiro e le pere Bebada. Lo staff è molto gentile.
