I loved the name of the Hotel and the restaurant. The fact that it was an African name like Aduna with African Pride despite being surrounded by a sea of other whitewashed and westernized names despite being physically in South Africa. My only criticism is the lack of native South African dishes especially considering that we are in South Africa. If you have the African names, take it to the next level and serve some African food! I never understood why hotel would solely cater to tourists tastes. We left our homes to come to yours and your country and I personally take this as an opportunity to eat what you eat how you eat it. If I wanted an English/Dutch or German cuisine, I’d buy a ticket and go there directly. You wouldn’t find African dishes served in their hotels there so why promote another person’s culture when they wouldn’t do the same for yours? If tourists don’t want to eat local and stay in their comfort zones then they should take their closed minded selves and stay home. When you don’t share local dishes it’s almost like you think it’s not good enough. Almost like you’re ashamed. #Justmy2cents

That being said, the waiters and waitresses were amazing and their attention to detail, friendly attitude and the service with a smile was a welcome addition during this holiday season. One waiter especially Ncq took this to another level!! He was so gracious and accommodating and his smile was infectious!! He made me feel at home especially and made sure I was well fed. I will certainly be back to patronize this establishment and enjoy the staff’s hospitality again! They ALL deserve a raise, especially Ncq....

I was having breakfast at Aduna Bistro the same time as the incident described in a recent review, and I feel it is important to share an objective perspective. While I completely empathise with any parent whose child experiences a minor accident, I must clarify that at no point were the guests asked to leave by the restaurant staff. From what I observed the team remained professional, accommodating, ensuring all guests including the family involved - felt comfortable. The atmosphere at Aduna is always warm and welcoming and I personally did not witness any actions that suggest otherwise.

It is understandable that mis understandings can arise in emotional moments, but based on my experience, the restaurant handled the situation with absolute fairness. Beyond that, I must say that Aduna Bistro is truly an amazing restaurant with fantastic food, great service and a wonderful ambiance. I highly recommend...

Unfortunately not the same 5-star experience as mentioned in other reviews. Firstly, the cappuccino is R40 and the one of the smallest cups I’ve ever had. The food order took an unacceptably long time. We were told a few times “it’ll be there in a minute” - but waited and waited…. Ordered the Halloumi Fry stack: utterly disappointed; can make it better at home. Halloumi tasted very bland, with a ridiculously small amount of mushrooms. Was more of a R70 meal than a R140 meal! Then oh dear the French toast - took one bite and asked for it to be sent back. Old bread that’s barely soaked in egg…. One tiny strawberry chopped up, barely noticeable berries…. Sorry to say but one of the worst French toasts I’ve ever had. Thank goodness they took it off the bill for me. I will complement them on very friendly service and a lovely atmosphere and setting. But unfortunately won’t return and...

My boyfriend and I went to Aduna Bistro for our 1 year anniversary. For starters, we had the tempura crunch roll and the bread roll. Absolutely delicious. The bread roll is quite filling.
For mains, I had the oxtail ragu pasta and he had the oxtail with polenta. The oxtail was burnt and polenta was too salty. I didn’t like the cannellini beans in the pasta. The macadamia chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream and malva pudding with Amarula custard was delicious. They surprised us with a slice of cake to celebrate. The Old Fashioned Cocktail was a 5/5. The pineapple cooler wasn’t well balanced. It tasted more like rum and soda water only.

The food was definitely not worth the price. The starter were okay just not what I thought it would be. Then main was okay but nothing to write home about. The dessert was a waste really too much sugar iced or something that didn’t make sense at all. The service was the worst, make a booking and when I was showed the table to share for 4 people was definitely very small and I asked for a table next to the other one and was told it was for 6 people but later given to 4 people which I found was very unfair as it even had 4 chairs to begin with. It’s a beautiful place really but they can work on their service.
