Basil shao mai is dry, otherwise the taste quite good actually, different than the usual one, a shame that the inside is dry.
Flying fish roe dimsum is not that good, it used hargow skin, the taste is on the sweet side.
Xiaolongbao good, got soup inside.
Tofu skin shrimp roll is delicous too, need to dip it with the sauce (similar to sweet mayo cold salad sauce), otherwise it is bland, the filling is different than usual fried tofu skin it got chives shrimp and black rice not sure what you called it in english, it is usually used in indonesia as traditional dessert component.
Golden fried rice nice, taste exactly like din tai fung's fried rice, it is just need to be dried more, it is still too wet for me, maybe korean like this kind of texture for their fried rice. It also come with a kind of eggdrop soup.
Meatball and deep fried eggplant with yuxiang sauce actually tasted good, it got spicy kick which is not really spicy (for me) actually. The eggplant's batter is thin like tempura. But the eggplant is just too oily and the sauce is oil type chili sauce, it is just too much oil, meatball however is great. I think the eggplant is deep fried in too low temperature, the oil gets inside. The plating is really pretty though.
Overall it is quite delicious, but it also falls a bit short, hence the 3 stars. I still prefer the usual dimsum places that i frequent. And finally we can find great english speaker staffs, service is nice...
ย ย ย Read moreThis restaurant seriously needs to work on its attitude. I stayed at the hotel and, after reading many good reviews about the food, decided to give it a try. On the first day, I was told all bookings were full and they wouldnโt even allow queuing. The same thing happened on the second and third day. When I finally asked if I could order takeaway, I was told it wasnโt available either.
I understand that a popular restaurant can be fully booked โ thatโs fair. But to refuse both queuing and takeaway, and to only inform waiting guests after half an hour that queuing isnโt accepted, reflects very poor service and attitude. Your food may be good, but this is no way to run a business. No matter how nice the food is, I wonโt be coming back. This kind of โhigh-endโ attitude is simply...
ย ย ย Read moreWe managed to book lunch at Tian MiMi at the brunch in Mercure hotel. The restaurant feels a little like a hotel breakfast place. We emailed about one of our party being vegetarian but never got any contact back so we assume there will be something for him to eat on the menu. Unfortunately, I don't think they really cater for extra requirements. The staff who looked after us talked to the chef and managed a stir-fry veggie on rice for him. The rest of us ordered the feed me "MiMi" set which has a good amount of food per person. The food was nice but I think the main dish meatballs were quite dry and low on flavour. Not much on the drink menu options. Sadly, we've been to many Chinese restaurants in different countries and this restaurant...
