I had intentions of finding this place after reading about it online and so I dutifully turned up at 12pm and sat upstairs to have a cold beer with my wife and two kids. We were hungry so chose bravas patatas, la bomba del pi, and calamari. Boy, oh boy...they were GOOD ! And the sauce was just delicious. In fact, it was so good we opted to go back for dinner the following night. We had vermouth, ham croquettes, meat balls, bravas patatas and la bomba (sorry if my spelling is wrong). Meat balls superb...everything superb. It is all very filling though so perhaps best to order as you go and top up rather than altogether because we ordered a second portion of meatballs and between ordering it and its being served, I was very quickly full and couldn't face a second It's not a big bar...probably searing for 25 or so indoors with further seating outside. Highly recommended. Avoid ice-cream shop next door. SECOND VISIT IN APRIL... food had gone downhill. Meatballs were hard and tasteless and even the La Bomba Del Pi failed to live up to my earlier visit. THIRD VISIT On my second visit a tour guide brought in a bunch of people who sat at a longish table upstairs and listened whilst an English guide talked to them about how to drink cava. He was annoying. This third visit, same chap walks in with another group of tourists..went upstairs to same longish table where he stood, seriously invading the space of two people minding their own business..whilst he talked about cava. He was annoying again. At same time, another tour group appeared and went downstairs. Conclusion: this bar is for tourists and tour guides who look disinterested in the same talk they give daily. If there are two tour groups, it leaves enough seating for perhaps 8 people as it is a very small bar. If there is a tour group upstairs, you won't want to be sitting there as you'll have no space and no peace as you'll have to listen to the guides blather on whilst you are trying to enjoy the place yourself. The tour and the guides will ruin that foe you. Look elsewhere for authentic tapas bars...of which there are many and not filled with American tour groups.

I had a nice meal here one evening. I was starving, so I decided to get 3 different tapas dishes. The ham croquettas were very tasty, crunchy on the outside, then creamy and meaty savoury on the inside...I could have eaten more of them! The potato tortilla was also very good, a nice warm, tasty potato and eggy centre! Again, I could have eaten another piece! ;) Finally, I had some meatballs with a tomato and onion sauce, also really good...they tasted beefy enough, but just a bit bland! The sauce made up for it, though! :) So, if you're in the area, definitely give this place a go, you won't be disappointed! The staff were very friendly and obliging, and the classic Spanish tapas bar interior gave it that extra nice vibe also. Easy 5 stars.

Traditional tapas bar serving solid snacks. The kitchen was closed when we visited around 4pm but this didn’t deter from the tasty offerings such as albondigas, jamon iberico and pan con tomate. I had my first try of Vermut here also and it is very nice, somewhat different but also not far off a Sangria, only less sweet and more bitter. Good bunch of guys working here too, pop in and give them a try!
