I've been coming to Bormuth for years and it's always my go-to place when somebody visits from abroad. I've always gone there for the quality of the food, the awesome vermouths and the atmosphere. However the last few visits have left a very bitter taste and have made me notice how unfriendly the establishment is overall. The staff is rude, they talk to customers like they're stupid or they simply ignore you. My friend asked a waitress if she could take a photo and she literally rudely said "NO" (instead of something nicer). As you can't make reservations, you always have wait for a while to be seated outside. The staff often forget about the order of arrival and then don't even seriously clean the table before you're seated (yesterday our table was sticky). Finally, the policy of one payment per table (that we can't split the payment equally into 3 cards for example) is outdated and unfriendly. If it's about time, hire more staff. If it's about charges per card, well that's just a cost the cast majority of restaurants in...
Read moreThe food was really good (tapas), I had the fried egg with chorizo and fries, but really all the food we ordered to the table was good. That included chicken fingers for the kids, croquettes, seafood (that I was not interested in) and nachos.
Since we were a large group, we sat downstairs in a separate room. It really helped since we were there by ourselves and the kids could roam a bit more freely.
If the big table behind us had had a group like ours sitting there as well, it would not have been so good.
The staff were patient and friendly, especially having to order for the kids and waiting for us to translate the menu into various languages while ordering to confirm what everyone wanted.
I ordered a beer which was very cold and nice, but I don't know what brand that was.
We were a group of 9.
Would definitely recommend as a place to sit and eat tapas for a...
Read moreI used to be a regular and often recommended this place to friends and family visiting Barcelona. But after today, I won’t be coming back.
While trying to arrange a table for four — with prior confirmation from the staff inside — I politely asked two guests if they’d be open to shifting tables so we could sit together. They had no issue with it.
Suddenly, a waiter from the terrace shouted at me across the space, telling me to “stop bothering his clients,” in an unnecessarily aggressive and disrespectful tone. He had no idea the situation had already been cleared.
I’ve worked in hospitality for years and would never approach guests without permission. This treatment was completely uncalled for and unacceptable.
I left feeling shocked and disrespected. It’s unfortunate to see such poor behavior from staff in a place I...
