Oassis Natural Cooking — Restaurant in Barcelona

On Christmas eve 2024, tonight, when I could've been with my family or eaten somewhere else, I chose this place as I heard good things about it. When I arrived, I was greeted by a young gentleman who sat me down & took my drink & food order at about 9:pm..because I am an English speaking tourist, he retrieved a 2nd gentleman who made sure that he got my order correct - which was, the Oassis Club Sandwich & San Francisco drink.

1 hour pass by and I see multiple people that came in after me, receiving their order and I have yet to receive my food, only the drink. Then the 1st young man came to check on me and to his surprise, I told him I have yet to receive my food..and I am a patient man, as I travel alot and know some things take time..but, after investigation, the waiter (1st young man) comes back to me to tell me that the item I ordered was finished for the night!

Now, what item should have been 86'd (off the menu) from the moment I arrived. Anyways, I got up to leave as now I'm upset as there were no more food options open for the night due to the Holiday. I told the young man, I refused to pay for that drink as the restaurant failed in notifying anyone about the menu item and wasting my time. I started to walk out and I expressed that I was not paying for the item as it is a cost to the restaurant for my time wasted. Then a lady approaches me and meets me at the door, puts her hands on me as of to stop me and I do NOT condone the touching of customers at all..she then asked me to wait to speak to the manager on duty and when he arrived, the young man explained what happened and I agreed and then told him "for my time wasted, I am refusing to pay for that drink" and he agreed and I walked out very upset 😡

If this is the type of behavior your restaurant instills in your rules & guidelines, and the touching of customers, well I can promise you that I will make sure everyone knows about the disrespect, assault and dangerous mentality this restaurant embodies..Horrible!..I wonder what my friends over at Catalan News would say about this...

Beautiful big cozy space, the reason my husband & I chose to go in for our meal in Barcelona. The drink menu had nice options, but small selection actually available. After trying to order four different ones, I ended up with an expensive glass of orange juice.

I asked for the club sandwich without avocado, waitress said they are already made and couldn't be changed (that should have been a huge red flag), I said okay, I'll try it. My husband had a taco plate, nothing special but he ate it. Others seated after us were getting their food, still no sandwich. Finally I asked, waitress replied with "I said it already has avocado"... I nodded, yes and away she went. Thinking it was coming, waited another 10 minutes or more, then decided I had to leave. I waited outside while my husband got the check, I am not one to complain as I understand retail, but felt this was unacceptable.

Eventually my husband came out, with the sandwich, which they offered for free as the waitress said it was her fault. I had a few bites, it had been warmed up (would have chosen cold as warm lettuce and tomato is not my thing, especially when pre-made) and the turkey appeared to be a sliced deli-like... substance.

The three stars are for the setting and atmosphere. Unfortunately listed as a "natural cooking" restaurant, not at all what we expected.

Side note, the people beside us had a delicious looking ceasar salad, home cut fries and the pizza was being made on the other side us. Probably won't be back, but if we do... fresh made pizza...

Only come here if you really have no where else to eat. The staff is very frustrated some of them are even angry and will make you feel like they are doing you a huge favor by attending to you after waiting for so long. They experience will ruin your mood and will make you regret going there. We stayed in the hotel in the same building so we ate here 4 times. We gave them many chances because I am vegan and didn’t know where else to eat. I ordered avocado toast and asked if it’s vegan, the waiter said yes, then another waiter delivered it and it was with egg. Second day I emphasized I don’t want egg or any salad or anything else on top of the avocado, they got it with salad, the third day the same thing. They really don’t care about their customers and this shows not only in not being able to get the simple order right but also in being rude and inattentive. You can call a waiter 3 times and they won’t even look at you, or will walk away while you still have questions or want to say something else. The bill would also take forever. We were late one of the times trying to catch a train and told them in advance but the lady waiter didn’t care and simply didn’t want to bring the bill and instead went on to serve other customers. It’s a kind of place that can really ruin your mood for the rest of the day. The management has a long way to go with training their employees and working on their quality of service. The food was tasteless too, didn’t even have salt let alone other ingredients that would...
