Last night, I chose to celebrate my birthday at a restaurant in Bilbao, a decision I deeply regret. Despite arriving slightly before their advertised opening time of 8:00 PM, we found a line already forming outside. This early inconvenience was just the beginning of a disappointing evening.

From the moment we stepped inside, the service was anything but welcoming. The staff made it clear that they wanted us to eat quickly and leave, which completely ruined what should have been a cozy and enjoyable occasion with friends. The lack of air conditioning added to our discomfort, as did the tiny table barely large enough for the three of us. It felt more like we were being squeezed into a rushed business transaction than dining at a supposedly reputable establishment.

One of the most unpleasant aspects of the experience was the server’s attitude. As we were finishing our pizza, she immediately began clearing our plates—while I was still chewing—and pressured us to order dessert. When I mentioned that I was still eating, she curtly gave me "five more minutes." True to her word, she returned precisely five minutes later, ready to take my plate and ask about dessert. The tiramisu arrived quickly, but within ten minutes, she was already asking how we planned to pay, despite us having been there for less than an hour.

For a restaurant of this caliber, the experience was a profound disappointment. What should have been a memorable birthday dinner was instead marred by rushed, unfriendly service and a complete lack of comfort. I cannot recommend this place to anyone seeking a relaxed, enjoyable dining...

If you are a pizza lover this is the place to go. One of the best Neapolitan styled pizzas in Bilbao. Quality ingredients, San Marzano tomatoes sauce ,mozzarella from Agerola perfect dough texture and more. Wide range of options in pizzas made with a variety of ingredients for different tastes. Also has fresh home made pastas. Different options such us,Spaghettone, Rigatoni, Pappardelle and Caserecce. Each serve with a different delicious sauce. Me and my girlfriend had 2 pizzas ,

LA PRIMAVERA | 13,90€ Tomate San Marzano DOP, Mozzarella Ahumada de Agerola, Tomate Cherry Premium, Aceituna Morada gourmet. *Rúcula, *Parmigiano Reggiano de Monte DOP Gran Riserva 30 meses

Our hotel was right across from this pizza place, and since my partner was craving pizza, it seemed like the perfect spot for dinner.

When we arrived, we noticed a long queue outside. To me, long queues usually mean the food is worth the wait, so my excitement grew. We didn’t have a reservation, but luckily, we still managed to get a table.

The staff were very friendly, spoke English well, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and inviting.

We decided to try the monthly specials: a pizza and a pasta dish. The pizza, with its perfectly baked dough, was topped with smoked salmon, buffalo mozzarella, and an olive pâté. It was creamy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious.

The pasta, a rich lasagna, was just as indulgent. It was layered with three types of cheese: parmigiano, gorgonzola, and pecorino, along with chicory braised in red wine and a velvety béchamel sauce. Heavy, but so good!

Hoy en día, entre semana, si vas un poco antes de la hora de apertura te aseguras comida o reservas hora de comida a tu gusto y te marchas hasta la hora solicitada. Un pequeño inconveniente para poder comer en una de las mejores 20 pizzerías de Europa. El local es de look bohemio, más desenfado. La cocina está a la izquierda de la entrada, justo detrás de la recepción, y se puede ver cómo trabajan las masas y la pasta, porque está abierta. El local tiene dos niveles, atendido por diferente personal, y de ahí mi única pega: había 3 mesas libres y la camarera encargada de tomar las comandas no subió hasta pasados 20 minutos, por lo que ni siquiera tuvimos la posibilidad de tomar algo mientras esperábamos. Simplemente nos mandaron subir a la planta de arriba y se olvidaron. Es algo que entiendo cuando hay mucho trabajo, pero no cuando hay mesas libres. Sin embargo la vez que comí en la planta baja, que el local estaba lleno, no tuvimos este problema. Inexperiencia del personal o despiste, supongo, por eso edito, no quito estrella de servicio, y doy otra oportunidad, ya que el trato ofrecido la primera vez fue maravilloso, tanto por parte de los camareros y como por parte del metrê?, que ese día también realizó tareas de camarero, no sé si por las circunstancias del momento. Con respecto a la increíble comida, porque de eso no hay duda, se puede decir que la selección de pizzas está limitada a un menor número de pizzas, y sólo napoletanas, que en el otro local, pero a cambio ofrece algo muy especial que no tienen en la calle San Francisco: la pasta fresca hecha por ellos. Es increíble, está perfecta, y no habrás probado nada igual por estos lares. Actualmente tiene 4 variedades de pasta. Os ofrezco fotos del plato de pasta "A Carbonara" y lo que quedó tras un primer intento de sacar foto de la pizza "La Idiazabal", pero no dió tiempo a verla entera. La vez anterior probamos la pasta "La Norma" y estuvo exquisita, no apta para los que no puedan disfrutar del tomate natural triturado, fue también un manjar. En resumen, merece la pena probar la delicia de la pasta de este local, no os la perdáis. Y de las pizzas no puedo decir nada que no haya dicho ya. Son las mejores que he probado. Ya estamos en un momento en que estamos probando todas, porque creemos que merece la pena disfrutarlas. Así que espero seguir contándoos más cosas. Por otro lado sé que se puede pedir comida para llevar, pero no sé muy bien cómo funciona.
