We had the paella mixto which had chicken, shrimp, crayfish, baby squid, calamares, clams. It was 34 euro for 2 people but the size was good enough for 3. We couldn’t finish and left a third. It was good though, not the best but good enough as we didn’t have time to look for another place. This was located near our hotel.
They served bread which was charged at 3 euro. They also served another plate with toast and a strong cheese (tasted like blue cheese). Not sure which bread they charged us for. The toast with the cheese was the kind you’d find in a North American grocery store, small squares and overly crunchy. Not a good idea to serve this kind of toast in a city that does bread better than North America.
Service was quick and efficient and friendly. The guy was the bartender, reception, server all in one and he did it pretty well. Amazing.
Overall, I probably wouldn’t return but it was good for the convenient location. Flavour wasn’t great but it wasn’t too bad either. I’ve tasted far worse.

Read moreFor seven people: Chipirones, Croquetas Caseras, Cazuela mejilones, Cebolla Rellenas de Atun, Patates tres salsas, Pulpo a la Gallega, Ensalada Verde, Pollo con Cebolla Confitado, two bottles of Ribera wine (Duron), total: 145 Euro. I, usually, avoid restaurants in tourist's areas but this time we had limited time and had to choose any of them. We have decided el Escarpine, an Asturian one. All foods were very delicious. Bread that they served was excellent (which I do not see good bread in the restaurants in Spain) Price is very reasonable for Madrid. In addition to the meals mentioned above we have tried to order paella but the waitress said, "no". He added, "that is enough for 7 people". I respect. We see it in some restaurants in Turkey, sometimes, too and I always appreciate it. It is a very professional attitude. I certainly recommend this restaurant to those, who are in search for restaurant around...
Read moreI didn't appreciate my visit here. Service is poor. No english menu or english speaking personal... Ok, that's fair enough.
But we were relocated in the middle of our visit to a different table, apparently because there was a bigger group expected to spontaneously come. A no-go in a restaurant, imho.
When we were moved with our dishware, the staff touched the cutlery with their blank hands on the ends which I'm supposed to put into my mouth. Yuck!
Floor in the corner we were placed in, was dirty and covered by some kind of disgusting fat, very slippery.
The ingredients of the dishes were inferior, especially the quality of the...
