Centrally Located which is a plus pt.
Food was average.
Please confirm the prices with the staff should you be selecting any seafood with market prices because their pricing is NOT market pricing at all. See below for the prices paid. Nowhere in the restaurant is the market prices mentioned nor in the menu, take note.
we were informed of a different price as that charged on the bill and we tried to explain its incorrect of them to cheat their customers like this . The boss was called in and started yelling at us. He even did the gesture of slapping his face (If we understand from our Spanish friends, that's calling us shameless).
Rather than doing damage control for the miscommunication of his staff, he chose to create a scene and chased the 'potential customers' away. Such a disgraceful behavior for a restaurant in the heart of Madrid.
Honestly, you get better food elsewhere and service too so if possible, avoid this place as it's a tourist scam.

Read moreLa Sirena Verde has unfortunately been the restaurant I've liked the least among all those I've tried in Madrid, so much that is felt like a tourist trap. And believe me, this city has some amazing food... elsewhere! The service was the worst part: the waiters were constantly hurrying me and trying to make me choose the most expensive dishes. It doesn't help that they don't speak English well: I was about to order an out-of-menu fish that costed 30 €, but the waiter spelled it like 13 €, twice! The quality of food is very up to very down: the Norway prawns and razor clams I got as appetizers were very very delicious, but the grilled fish had so much garlic in it that I had trouble finishing it and woke up three times during the night. The creme caramel was also not very good, which is ironic because in Madrid I also had the best creme caramel I ever had! 😅 Prices are also very high: for two fish appetizers, one main course, dessert, and a glass of wine I spent 56 €! In the end, I can't recommend La Sirena Verde. There are some many other incredible restaurants in Madrid (check my reviews) where you will have better experiences! Edit: In my previous review I've probably been too harsh, the two appetizers were actually very good! Nevertheless, my experience has unfortunately not been very...
Read moreVery disappointing experience. Ordered lobster as a special treat. Having seen the lobster tank at the front of the restaurant and menú stating FRESH bogavante. My partner and I were disappointed to have two FREEZER based lobsters served to us. The lobster meat was like puree and the claws were empty. We mentioned this to our waiter who claimed (sheepishly) that they were from the live tank. He offered us ONE free lobster to share and proceeded to make a demonstration of taking from the tank at the front of the restaurant....Which when we 1st ordered we NEVER had, nor did we see him walk the length of the room from the tank to the kitchen which we were sat near. Clearly after the tank lobster was "offered" to us, there was no doubt in our minds our original meal was in no way FRESH or ALIVE upon cooking.
The manager tried to charge us 180 euros!!! for our meal, which we refused to pay as this was clearly a scam during COVID times, that he was trying to pull assuming we were tourist AND that we were unable to tell how FRESH lobster should taste.
I recommend you stay away from this dishonest restaurant. However if you decide to go, stay alert and ask to see your dish before cooked, otherwise you could end up paying a small fortune for frozen food you could make...
