Let’s be frank, sushi restaurants are a dime a dozen these days with many being average at best. Sushi Bar Hannah and it’s head chef are anything but. It’s off the beaten track and I dare say you’d have to be looking for it to see it but once you do you’re greeted with an authentic Japanese interior full with bamboo trees and carefully considered touches, with very uniformed table settings. The lighting is just right along with the music that transports you to feeling you’re dinning in Japan. If you book in advance (and you’ll need to at the weekends!) the table is set with name cards in English and Japanese which is another delightful touch which makes the experience even more memorable. The reviews that highlight that the restaurant is expensive are accurate however in my opinion the prices are entirely justified; fresh Alaskan and Dorset Crab, fresh Wasabi (not horseradish with green food colouring!), in house made soy sauce, the best cuts of fish that are hand prepared and the sushi rolls made in the middle counter in front of you... for this and so much more, what would one expect? This restaurant emanates the mantra, you get what you pay for. The food is, quite simply, excellent and by far the best Japanese food we’d ever had. We had the tasting menu which included the freshest Sashimi, Tempura, sushi rolls, grilled duck with figs, miso glazed aubergine which tasted like a pecan pie and was potentially one of the most delicious and moorish dishes I’ve ever had the privilege to eat. All finished with a green tea “tiramisu” which was sweet with cream and strong with green tea powder. They offer a plethora of Sake that can be paired with the dishes or enjoyed at the end of the meal, which I would highly recommend. To summarise if you can afford to eat here or whether it’s a treat, you will not be disappointed. I’d even go as far to say it’ll be a culinary experience that you’ll always remember for all the...
Read moreThis is worse than Japanese sushi restaurant opened by Chinese.. I haven’t seen worst taste in my life. According to its price and quality. I would never come back again .
I’m editing this due to your call and comment. First I have to tell you that due to respect friends and I tried everything and it is small portion, we are just tasting everything and that’s it.
Unfortunately your nigiri chutoro even contains ligaments, for one piece 11-12 euros price, the quality is not satisfactory of course. Second, your nigiri wagyu tasted like salami priced 18 euros , comments from my friends. By the way your eel today has a bit of fishy taste unfortunately, none of us wanted to tell you to create a problem. The stuff came to us to interrupt the conversation at least 4-5 times. I don’t even think you are well trained and you perhaps don’t have an idea when to provide a service and when not. And as well you made the phone call asking what is not good with a pretty rude tone. Christ, all friends were laughing at car, we think you don’t even know how to talk to a customer and we don’t know even about your intention about the call. The order made was for 3 people , we tasted everything to waste anything. But honestly , poor quality is poor quality , lack of service it’s you. The sauce was very salty . Tonkatsu dry and the sauce is not enjoyable. Stop defending yourself of “last bite “ because everything is one bite tasting portion.
Ok are you happy now ? Do you understand what is calidad...

I will leave honest comment and I hope they can improve ☺️🙏 the chef was smoking outside next to restrant when I arrive , I think shouldn’t show to client that with respect of “Sushi” because make with hand , of course even will wash after smoking 😅🙏 (sorry if I’m too sensitive)
