An Absolute Highlight of Our European Trip – 5 Stars Isn’t Enough!

After five weeks traveling across Europe, the restaurant at Hostal Cuba stands out as the absolute best dining experience we’ve had. Every dish was a masterpiece bursting with flavour, beautifully presented, and truly unforgettable.

A huge thank you to Andres, whose warmth and professionalism went above and beyond. He treated us like VIPs every single time, personally reserving our favourite seats at the Sky Bar and making us feel genuinely valued. His care and attention made us return again and again—he is, without a doubt, the best of the best.

Our waitress Joanne was a gem kind, attentive, and always one step ahead. She made each visit a joy with her helpful nature and bright energy.

As for the Sky Bar at it’s simply spectacular. With panoramic views over Palma, a stunning sunset backdrop, and a vibrant yet relaxed atmosphere, it was the perfect place to unwind each evening. The cocktails were divine and the service flawless. Special mention to Patricia, who brought such warmth and efficiency to our evenings, she was just amazing.

I waited in line as a single patron at this bar only to be overlooked by a waiter in an attempt to seat others waiting behind me. After being seated at a table that was not cleared, finally a waiter came to take my drink order, but only after tending to those he seated after me. My order was taken and before I could even finish my glass of wine, the waiter brought my check. I asked if I was being kicked out and he told me “yes” along with other loose excuses stating that I was not able to be there/dine as one person. As a young black woman, it’s hard to feel that there was any other reason for me to be asked to leave other than just being black. I would not have felt that way had this waiter not fully disregarded my existence upon arrival. I brought the issue up to the receptionist downstairs as I left and she stated that that waiter must have been new as she is not aware of any rules about single dining patrons. Very overrated. The views from the rooftop bar are amazing but that is where the positives end. The staff are quite rude and inattentive and the cocktails certainly not the quality expected of the €16 price tag. We were sat on the rear terrace and very much felt like an afterthought for the staff. Took about 30 minutes for someone to take our order and another 20-30 minutes for someone to plonk the cocktails down on our table without much word and throw 1 coaster to be shared amongst 4 people.
