I love it here. ૮ ˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶ ა I tend to visit a place I like several times to make sure their service is consistent before posting a review & I can vouch for that at Grind. The food has such a lovely playfulness to its flavours. I love the beetroot garnish on the Avo Toast. It adds a surprise sweetness to the otherwise savoury dish. My favourite go-to drink is the hot matcha latte. It's so tasty I've been guilty of buying two because one is just not enough. └(゚∀゚ )┘ For iced drinks, my personal favourite is the Hojicha latte. I've tried the matcha but the burnt flavour of the former hits a nicer spot. Small feedback though: It would be nice if the cups for iced drinks were taller because the ice cube hijacks the space, leaving little room for the drink itself. (Since I understand the large cubes are used to avoid it from melting too quickly & diluting the drink.)

I have yet to try all their dishes, but it's difficult to try a new one when the ones I have tried are already so comforting. But I'm sure the others are great too. ꃋᴖꃋ

They have separate menus for breakfast, brunch and dinner! The Brunch menu is currently available from 11 a.m. I am not sure of the time for the Dinner menu but going after dark usually does the trick :p

They get quite busy after 9 a.m. & I feel I once overheared reservations not being allowed when it's in its peak hours (but do double-check this). Laptops are respectfully asked not to be used to avoid crowding tables during this time too, which is fair.

The atmosphere feels like a grove in the city, due to its minimilaistic design choices but use of wooden nooks, pastel green staff shirts (one of my favourite colours! I live for pastels) & textured upholstery. I also like how the seats were arranged to give the feel for diners, restaurants and cozy cafés all at once without feeling jarring. I personally love sitting by the little cubicles near the windows. I wish there were more of those. They feel very safe. I also recently noticed that the cushions were lined with three different colours of textured fabric, which gave the same satisfaction of a unlocking a hidden achievement. (,,ヮ

Totally loved the place. Grind, located in Colombo, Sri Lanka, stands out as a true gem for coffee enthusiasts and casual visitors alike. My recent visit confirmed its reputation, particularly for serving what I can confidently say is the best espresso I’ve had in Sri Lanka. The rich, perfectly extracted shot was a testament to their dedication to quality coffee. Beyond the exceptional brew, Grind offers an inviting and comfortable environment. The café benefits immensely from an abundance of natural light, which streams in to illuminate a tastefully designed interior. The decor is modern yet cosy, creating a relaxed atmosphere perfect for unwinding or getting some work done. It’s definitely a place where you can comfortably set up your laptop and be productive. Service at Grind is commendable – attentive, friendly, and efficient, adding to the overall positive experience. For those driving, parking is available, which is a significant convenience in Colombo. The café is also wheelchair accessible, demonstrating an inclusive approach. Importantly, Grind maintains a non-smoking policy and a quiet ambience, making it an ideal spot for those seeking a peaceful escape from the city bustle. Whether you're craving an outstanding espresso, a comfortable workspace, or simply a tranquil spot to relax, Grind delivers...

(,,>ヮ<,,マ .ᐟ.ᐟ I do feel the AC could be a little more evenly distributed. It's never been too hot, but some areas don't get enough cooling from my experience. There is also very loud white noise & I'm not sure where it's coming from but the difference is vast when wearing noise-cancelling headphones there. For those sensitive to it, take care to bring your own. Either way, I will keep coming here. It's pricey, but the standard is crazy good to make it worth it. The staff are always very pleasant & attentive too. Those who've have more experience clear tables very quickly & subtely. When I wanted to change something on my dinner order, they didn’t question it—they just made space. That meant a lot to me. I think this café does that well: Makes space for your needs gently without shaming you for it. I’m grateful for that. I always end up staying longer than I usually plan. ♡
