We had the most delightful dining experience at Lago Italian Bistro — truly a hidden gem if you’re craving authentic Italian cuisine with heartwarming hospitality. ❤️🇮🇹 From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed and graciously hosted by Prasad, our butler for the evening, who made us feel right at home with his kind and attentive service 🙏🏼.

Here’s what we ordered and loved every bite of:

🥤 Watermelon Juice & Passion Fruit Juice – Super refreshing and fresh-pressed, the watermelon juice was naturally sweet and hydrating 🍉, while the passion fruit juice hit the perfect balance of tangy and sweet — a tropical burst of flavor 🌿🍹.

🥔 Crocchette Di Patate – These golden-brown potato croquettes were crispy on the outside, creamy and melt-in-your-mouth soft inside 😍. The seasoning was perfect and the texture was divine. Easily one of the best starters we’ve had in a long time! 👌

🍝 Spaghetti alla Carbonara – Absolutely classic and indulgent. The sauce was silky and rich, with the right punch of parmesan and black pepper. The pancetta added that beautiful smoky flavor and the pasta was cooked to perfect al dente. 💯

🍅 Spaghetti Pomodoro E Burrata – A heavenly combo of fresh tomato sauce and a generous dollop of creamy burrata on top. 🍅🧀 The flavors were clean, fresh, and comforting — the kind of dish that instantly transports you to a sunlit street café in Rome.

🥐 Croissant Salato – This savory croissant was buttery, flaky, and filled with a delicious surprise inside. A unique touch we didn’t expect but totally loved. 🥐💛

🍰 Tiramisu – The perfect finale! Light, creamy layers with just the right amount of espresso kick ☕️ and cocoa on top. Not overly sweet — just how a real Italian Nonna would make it 😌🍫.

🌟 The portions were incredibly generous, which made it perfect for sharing (or not 😋), and every dish was made with clear attention to quality and authenticity.

We’ll absolutely be returning to Lago Italian Bistro again — not just for the amazing food, but also for the cozy atmosphere and the outstanding service by Prasad. Grazie...

I am an a expat who has tasted authentic & fusion Italian food from outside SL and a food lover, who love to eat delicious and worthy food.

Yesterday, me and my wife went to this restaurant having high hope for a tasty food around 1530Hrs. Charitha took the order for Crocchette Di Patate, Aglio Olio (Penne), Marinara with garlic, some other items.

Aglio Olio - Smallest portion I have seen in my life, and penne was under cook & watery in the bottom. Normally this dish having taste of fine Olive and garlic. This was tasteless and Penne was hard to chew. I returned it back complaining, how this dish supposed be like. After sometime received the same, no difference. Advice to owner do not deceive customers and hire proper chefs.

Marinara with Garlic - We were waiting and waiting, then when we were running out of patience, asked where is our pizza. Then only they remember and start making. But there were couple of girls came after us, but they received the order early and faster. Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔. However when we received the pizza, it was soggy and blanc. Garlic pieces on top fresh slices. When I asked why this is soggy reason is because of cheese & it is like this. Who you are fooling?? Try pizza from Giovanni's and Napolitana. So far the best tasted in SL comparing to outside SL. Again Pizzaiolo doesnt' know what he is doing and forget about orders. (They void the items because of their delay but we did not eat it because it was that much worse)

Never ever deceive customers with food, we all come to taste and because we are hungry for good food. Yesterday we didnt had the Pizza and I had half of that, half cooked Aglio. Had to eat again from outside. You have charged service charges, could be for our worst experience.

One compliment your staff knows how to pronounce italian names rest are in the history. Worst experience in SL and not...

It is called Lago Italian Bistro and it is located in a cozy and elegant building in the CCC(Colombo City Center). The restaurant has a spacious and comfortable dining area, with a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff are friendly and attentive, and they make sure you have a great experience. The menu offers a variety of dishes, from appetizers and salads to pasta and pizza.

I ordered the chicken burger, with fries, Spaghetti Bolognese and a glass of strawberry margarita. The burger was juicy and flavorful, with a crispy bun and fresh lettuce, tomato and cheese. The fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, and they came with a tangy homemade ketchup. The strawberry margarita was smooth and fruity, and it complemented the meal perfectly. My friends and family ordered many varieties of Spaghetti with refreshing beverages. The ordered beverages were cold(perfect) and refreshing, and it balanced the spiciness of the meals my friends and family ordered. We both enjoyed our food and drinks, and we were satisfied with the portions and the prices.

We had a wonderful time at Lago Italian Bistro, and we would definitely recommend it to anyone who loves Italian food. The restaurant has a great ambiance, service and food quality, and it is suitable for any occasion.
