Happy Lamb Hot Pot is a textbook example of how to squander what could have been a great buffet and hot pot experience.
To start with. When you book a table, be aware that the time you spend to get seated and ordering is deducted from your dining time. This is not mentioned anywhere online or in the restaurant.
On top of that, the staff is inattentive and unfriendly. You have to specifically ask to get a refill for the broth. There isn’t any initiative among the staff. In general, it is very difficult to order more meat from them, as most of the time they are just ignoring you. We also had issues simply reordering the same meat as before — each serving looked completely different from the last. We had to repeatedly ask to receive the same cut we were given the first time. After four attempts, one staff member finally explained that the meat was cut from a different parts of the same region of the cow.
The problems didn’t end there. After nearly an hour of persuading a staff member, the meat finally arrived — only for us to be told immediately afterward that we had to leave within 10 minutes. Keep in mind, this was 200g of meat delivered an hour late. Do they really expect anyone to eat that in just 10 minutes?
We managed to negotiate an additional 15 minutes (only 5 min more on top of the 10 minutes), but the whole situation felt rushed and unprofessional. Especially considering that 80% of the restaurant was empty. Why rush paying customers?
Finally, the staff promised us a discount due to all of the above issues. But this “discount” turned out to be nothing more than coupons for the same restaurant. This was supposed to compensate for us being forced to vacate the table so quickly — yet I would never set foot in this restaurant again. So the coupons are basically worthless.
The only good thing about Happy Lamb Hot Pot...

The service here was fairly terrible. We were there during a busy time thrown at a random table that was barely wiped off. Our server didn't really explain how things work and treated us as if we were stupid for asking fairly basic questions. Beer was limited to 3.5% which is fine, but I would at least expect it to be served cold rather than room temperature.
The Hot Pot broths themselves were good. I had the original and the yellow. The meat selection on the premium Buffet was very good, but the price was quite high for the amount we ate. Considering you pay full adult price for 12-year-olds, cost for the meal can get expensive quickly.
The buffet table was decently well stocked. All the fresh vegetables and mushrooms were really appreciated. The sauce buffet station was far too small and constantly had a line of three to four people. Not sure why they don't just offer premixed sauces to start.
The atmosphere was somewhere between fancy restaurant and an upscale cafeteria.
Found myself annoyed when it came to paying as I was expected to remember my table number when I went up to pay. They hadn't really told me my table number at any point and I had to sort of gesture around the corner like an idiot. On top of that, they tried to charge me forever an extra meal with no apology when I pointed out the error. They did not show me an itemized receipt before asking me to pay and it was only after explicitly asking for this that I found the error.
Think this place could turn into something good in the future, but they need to really Step up their service and...
