We actually found this Place on google. I was a bit hesitant to try it as it’s hard to find good Mexican food on this side of the world. I was definitely surprised by it all! We ordered the margaritas and it was perfect, not heavily sweet but enough to taste the tequila 😉 My husband order the enchiladas and I ordered the chilaquiles. It’s been a while since I had those. And boy were they good! My daughter had a mixture of both our plates and devoured our rice and beans. We ended our dinner with some icecream. The food was very delicious, flavorful, and has the true Latin flavors in food! The portion size was very generous as well. Service was great and very attentive! Like I said, I was shocked and surprised that all the way in Switzerland, there was an amazing Mexican restaurant tucked down a little street in Switzerland! I’m actually quite upset I didn’t take a photo of my meal before I devoured it! I highly recommend coming here for some really good food!

We came here quite late around 9pm and it was still quite busy. My husband ordered the chillaquiles and I ordered the Caldo soup without rice. We also ordered two mango margaritas and the food and drinks took almost an hour to come out my soup came with rice in it and when I told the waiter I ordered it without rice he’s like, “it comes with rice” yes I am aware that’s why I ordered it without and the other waiter wrote it down but since it took an hour and the kitchen was closed we did not ask for another one. The flavour was nice though and the chillaquiles were very tasty. The mango margaritas were perfect as well. All in all it was a decent experience our first waiter was very friendly and if the food didn’t take so long to come out and if it wasn’t for them not following through with my no rice request I would give it 5*so I do recommend this place but not when it is busy.

Coming from a mecca of Mexican cuisine in Chicago, I was blown away by El Azteca. Our party started with a jug margaritas which were full of real lime and good tequila. The tajin-salt spiced rim of the glass was a welcome touch. I had chicken mole flautas that were crispy and the mole sauce was balanced, chocolatey and just the right level of spice. The veggie chilaquiles were covered in delicious pickled veggies and a their verde salsa, the whole table tried it and loved it. We also had someone in our party who can't do sour cream and failed to mention while ordering but the folks at El Azteca were incredibly gracious in quickly remaking a dish for us. Next time I'm in Switzerland, I'll make the trip to Interlaken again solely for a night of margaritas and spicy deliciousness at El Azteca.

As a Mexican, I can say that this is probably the most authentic Mexican restaurant I have come across in Switzerland. My boyfriend really wanted to come here for dinner (Saturday night), but I was apprehensive since I don't go out to Mexican restaurants here in Europe as they are always a huge disappointment. Begrudgingly, I agreed, and went. To my surprise, I was actually really impressed! A couple of the waiters were playing the guitar and singing popular Mexican songs all night. The atmosphere was really welcoming, friendly, and lively. They have all the classic Mexican dishes so there is something for everyone, even vegetarians. Upon request, they also have an actually spicy salsa - real salsa, as opposed to the "spicy" kind made for foreigners. The tortillas were good too. They also had a nice selection of tequilas, but what really impressed me, was that they even had Cajeta. I will definitely be back. As for service, definitely be prepared to wait. It is quite popular so getting a table at peak hours may be difficult. Also, if you come in large groups, it may be hard or impossible to accommodate you as it is a small place and there is limited seating. Getting someone to take our order and get us our order took time, but this was expected since it was peak time and it was busy. It is just a...
