La Bonne Cave — Restaurant in Lucerne

Okay, my experience there was hilarious 😂

I and my partner decided to stay there for couple of beers before rushing back to the train station. It was a very hot day so we just wanted to drink quickly.

The staff has no idea about the products, since we are tourists and we asked a few questions about their beers, she always responded with I am not sure, I don’t know,… we gave up on asking and chose whatever.

When we said , oh the ginger beer should be shaken before open, coz all the ginger was down on the bottom.

She asked if she can put her thumb on top of my open bottle and shake it up like that??? What? Put her thumb👍in someone’s drink?? And her hands were still holding things, Is it okay for you like this? Or Am I just too much about hygienic???

Paying, we were charged more than what were written on the menu. We usually don’t pay attention to this, but by accident the receipt and the menu were opened next to each other, and we didn’t order much so I could spot out.

Okay it’s not a huge a mount of money, we are able to give more, but still I feel it’s strange!!!

The staff said the menu price is a wrong and we needed to pay with the new price. It’s not much more on each product but it’s still not okay!!!! If the menu is wrong then it’s their problem, imagine a lot of people ordered and the bills always turned out more than what it should be, as tourists we don’t pay close attention to this, but it’s still very strange!!! People should pay attention!!!

I visited this place a few nights ago after hearing great recommendations about its wine and atmosphere.

Unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the hype.

From the moment I entered, I was met with a condescending attitude from the staff. Seemed like they don’t like foreigners …? And it felt like I was judged by how I was dressed…

The place was fairly busy, so I stood at the bar, ready to order or waiting for a seat to open up. A waitress approached - unsmiling and unfriendly - and responded rudely when I asked for her wine recommendation.

I ended up ordering a French wine, but as she opened it with a pourer, the bottle suddenly exploded. Wine went everywhere - on me, on her, on the floor, and all around. I was left feeling embarrassed and humiliated.

Without saying a word, she disappeared. No explanation, no apology, and no offer of compensation for the wine stains on my coat. The staff’s behavior throughout was shockingly poor.

Not recommended at all. There are plenty of nice places in Lucerne - go to...

We thought why not trying a new place since there was 2 empty tables. The first drink got pretty fast to us after we sat down and ordered. Later when we wanted to order a second round it took really long. Also when we try to order food it took ages. We also noticed that a couple sat next to us when the table were empty and after like 15min they stood up and left because nobody served them....The quality of the food and drinks were good, the service could have been a bit better and faster. Nonetheless I would come here for a drink again and hope they improved their...
