Excellent food, nice owners and a very pleasant experience overall. When you sit in the Golden Paradise eating your food, or waiting for it, what amazes you is how some or the other customer is chatting up with the owners like close friends. The Punjabi owner couple pay that kind of attention to their guests. The gentleman is of the third generation of an Indian family settled in Thailand. They have recently started the restaurant (a couple of years back or so - earlier they were into the tailoring business), and are running it pretty well. The food was delicious, presented well in a pretty neat ambience. It fits in perfectly with the laid back tempo of Karon. Getting vegetarian fare (without fish oil being used) is a challenge in Thailand. Golden Paradise is one of the few places where that is available, as the chefs and others working there understand what "vegetarian" is all about for Indians. The surprise was that though it serves Indian food, it is not as if it were a hanging place for Indian tourists only. Every time we had a meal, we were the only Indians - the place seems to be a big hit with Russians as well, but then Karon is indeed very popular with Russians and East Europeans. Food is priced in line with rest of the market, but their food and service is up there with the tony restaurants. If you are in Karon, do visit...
Read moreWe had a meal here whilst in Phuket, I had the Chicken Jalfrezi and my wife, Chicken Tikka Masala. We were asked how spicy we would like the dish and we both went for the spicy option. After around 30 minutes or so our meals arrived and first impressions were very good indeed. The presentation and indeed the colour of the dishes looked lovely. We both had our first mouthful of these lovely looking dishes and wasn’t disappointed at all. The spices hit our tastebuds followed by the flavoursome sauce the dish was cooked in. It never tasted bland like others we tried in Thailand it was like we were at our local restaurant in the UK. The owners of the restaurant are very warm and welcoming and afterwards even called us a taxi back to our hotel. The spice levels in the food you choose when ordering, so there’s a curry for everybody and to what their palate allows. This restaurant is certainly as close as you’re going to get to your local Indian at home I can tell you that. Go and give it a try you certainly won’t be disappointed and you can even watch your meal being cooked if you so wish. Overall a very very good restaurant which we...
Read moreMe and my friend were craving both Thai and Indian food, and we came across Golden Paradise at Carter. To our surprise, this place offers the best of both worlds!
We ordered Thai Chicken Curry with Sticky Rice and Sweet & Sour Prawns — the flavours were absolutely authentic and delicious. It’s rare to find a place that nails both cuisines, but they did it perfectly.
What caught our eye was the Indian menu featuring Masala Chai and Punjabi Samosas — and we couldn’t resist trying them. The tea was perfectly brewed with authentic Indian spices, and the samosas were served Punjabi-style with sweet Imli (Tamarind) chutney and fresh Pudina chutney — simply amazing!
The staff are super friendly, and many of them speak fluent Hindi, making you feel right at home. The team in the kitchen includes both Thai and Indian chefs, which truly reflects in the authenticity of the food.
The restaurant is clean, well-maintained, and family-friendly — perfect for a peaceful dinner with loved ones.
Highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy real Indian and Thai flavours under one roof. Great spot for Indian...
