The WORST customer service I have EVER experienced... Waited on the rhs (facing) the restaurant for about 10 minuets to be seated and wasn't acknowledged by any of the staff who mostly were bumbling around. At this point we should have left. Went to the lhs and asked if we could have a table and that we had been waiting for ages and no one has even acknowledged. We were waiting and they didn't apologize or seem fussed just 'uhmed and ahhed' if there was a table. It took a while for anyone to get to us to order, we justed ordered two mains, no drinks. Next thing we have two pots of tea at our table and we thought it was a kind gesture as they had kept us waiting, as we hadn't ordered them. Next, the 'manager' came over and told us they were for a different table... We had already put the tea bag in the pot so she just shrugged and left. The food was not worth the money at all, small portions for the price, much better quality even at the street market. Curry had a literal chicken thigh on the bone in the curry, which is just lazy and there was bits of cartalidge in the curry sauce. We got the bill and it had the two teas on we didn't order. We asked for them to be removed as we didn't order them, they were just dropped off on the wrong table. The lady who brought the bill said 'oh yes I remember you had no drink' another staff member came back over and this is when the rudeness began. She said 'youve drank them' (after she shunded us off previously after they were dropped off incorrectly) we explained we had been waiting and thought it was a polite apology, but she didn't want to hear it. She screamed at us 'fine I will pay for them shall I!!' 'You drank the tea, you pay for it'. She was the most hideous person I have EVER delt with in customer service. We followed her to the bar to try and pay for what we ordered but she wouldn't have any of it, she was shouting abusive Thai at my partner and would rather us walk out than knock two pots of tea off the bill?! Luckily another member of staff was very kind and explained it was no problem to take the drinks off. I have never experienced anyone in customer service shout at their customers for their own mistake, ESPECIALLY the manager. I recently had the unfortunate experience of dining at Red Chopsticks Restaurant in Phuket, Thailand, and I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others, especially fellow Chinese travelers, about the blatant discrimination and appalling service we encountered.
From the moment we walked in, the staff's attitude was cold and unwelcoming. Despite the restaurant being nearly empty, we were seated in a corner with minimal attention. However, the real issue arose when we requested to take our leftover food to-go. The staff outright refused, stating that they do not allow takeaway for Chinese customers. When we questioned this policy, they became defensive and rude, making it clear that this rule was specifically targeted at Chinese patrons. This was not only discriminatory but also deeply offensive.
To make matters worse, the staff's behavior was condescending throughout the meal. They spoke to us in a dismissive tone, ignored our requests for basic items like water, and seemed to go out of their way to make us feel uncomfortable. It was evident that we were being treated differently solely because of our nationality.
As a frequent traveler, I have never encountered such blatant discrimination in a restaurant. Red Chopsticks not only failed to provide a pleasant dining experience but also made us feel unwelcome and disrespected. This kind of behavior is unacceptable, and I strongly advise anyone, especially Chinese tourists, to avoid this establishment.

Read moreTERRIBLE experience... We got our drinks right away, but then waited more then 30min for our food. First came only the meat of my order, without the rice. Then after waiting so long that my meat got cold, we asked where is my boyfriend's order and my rice, and the waitress says this plate was not even mine. She goes check and then bring 2 portions of cold rice and my boyfriend's food that was also already cold. Probably was seeting by the pick up counter for very long and nobody cared to bring to us. We tell the waitress the food is cold and we want to cancel it. At this point, the 6 tables around us are also complaining that their order still didn't come all out. The waitress did not understand us, took our plates, and microwaved it....we barely ate and asked for the check. I told them that this was the worst experience eating in Thailand. Very sad to waste our last night in Phuket there. Thai food is delicious and Thai people are amazing, this place represents NOTHING of this wonderful country. Better go to Kata night market and have delicious WARM food there for 1/3...
