The Tavern — Restaurant in Karon

So the Tavern Sports Bar and Restaurant .What can I say about the place,

Well I can say WOW and WOW again. let me explain, I was told about this place from a good friend when I asked him , "where can I go for decent food and few drinks and to watch football" and his answer was The Tavern

So me being me I had to go have look for myself, Yep it is down a deserted SOI at this time due to Covid and everything else closed but that's one of the good things, its quiet and you get good people coming it over and over again which I found out.

On getting to the Tavern I was met by John (The Owner ) English Manchester guy, Heart of gold, (Man United fan) if he didn't have the biggest smile on his face when I came I would of left knowing he was a United fan , but I went in anyway , And to be honest I never left, .

The atmosphere on ant given day is brilliant people come for the food which ill get on to but the atmosphere and the people you meet is unreal, , A very homely friendly place to go .

There is plenty of drink options With his to Bar maids Muay and OM there to serve you , (Always big smiles on there faces)

There have multiple TVs which can have different sports on for you so you can alway get what you want to watch on.

So now the FOOD so John have his Wife MEAW. and OMG she makes the best Sunday Dinner in Kata If not Phuket, People Come from all over on a Sunday fo the Sunday dinner so be warned if you want it you need to get in early, as it gets busy busy.

Meaw is a excellent cook, cooking Thai and Western food which is always Top notch . She do es pop here head out at times say hi, and alway is smiling,

John is front of house keeping everyone entertained in all ways (something that has to be seen )

I went in to The Tavern to watch football on Saturday afternoon, I left with with a 2nd family and handful of good friends and people,

If you are in Kata or just Phuket get this place on your map and come visit John and Meaw. Amazing place amazing people and you will defiantly leave there smiling...

Wow, what a meal! We rode from Phuket town just to get a Sunday roast, it was absolutely 100% delicious and well worth the trip.

My wife is English, and she loves a great Sunday roast. This place delivers in spades. I'm honestly amazed we got such a perfect meal outside of England.

I got a roast dinner with beef tenderloin, she got the roast chicken inside a huge Yorkshire pudding. They also offered lamb shank.

Both meals were cooked to perfection, came with a lot of amazing sides, were an extremely generous portion, and delivered on all expectations. I'm a big guy that eats a lot of food, and this filled me full. My wife had a good 30% remaining.

The meal even included a spectacular dessert of toffee pudding with ice cream.

I would absolutely recommend this to anyone looking for a gorgeous roast dinner. The staff were very, very kind, and the owner was a nice...

I have been coming to the tavern for the past 4-5 years.

I was first introduced to the place by a friend who mentioned the quality of the Sunday roast.

I havnt missed a Sunday when I’m in Phuket ever since and I come to Phuket 2-3 times a year for 3-5 weeks. The Sunday roast is that good!

I also come during the week to eat as the menu is full of excellent food. Everything cooked perfectly

The beers is ice cold - with ice cold glasses and the staff are so friendly the place feels like home from home to me now

I guarantee you will no be dissapointed

P.s if more than one person is going for a roast on a Sunday , highly recommend booking in advance as it’s a well known spot...
